All Federal Express shipments are Air shipments. Only FedEx Ground, a subsidiary of FDX Corp, uses Ground...Originally posted by: miri
My order was sent out of California last night, this morning it is already in New Jersey. Pretty impressive for Fedex saver shipping.

yup, saver goes truck to nearest sort facility, fly's out to your closest sort facility, and heads your way, only difference is the priority the packages get at the moment.Originally posted by: PowerMac4Ever

I guess the rumor is if a person pays for 3 day and it only takes 2 days to get there, they'll hold it for an extra day. I'm not sure if this has happened to me.Originally posted by: lobadobadingdong

never happens to me.
I might order at 11 am CST, but it wont be approved that day, isnt approved until the afternoon of the next day and then gets shipped out a full day or so later.
IMHO, newegg is one of the slower shippers out there.

Because they can make more money if you want a faster shipping time. Granted, giving it to you when they have it is the nice thing to do, but they don't have to do that.Originally posted by: Crucial
My fedex lady makes it seem like she's doing us a favor when she delivers them a day early. I say if it's on your truck deliver it. Why leave that stuff on when she takes the same route every day.
IIRC the packages will get on an earlier flight if there is room. If not then they ship in the expected time frame.
