Newegg to dump UPS?

I ordered a product from NE on Tuesday and paid for UPS 3-day shipping. The package was scheduled to arrive today, but I just looked at UPS' web site and saw this:

Your package is in the UPS system and has a rescheduled delivery date of Nov 14, 2005.

THE PACKAGE WAS LEFT IN A UPS FACILITY CAUSING THIS DELAY;FORWARDED TO THE FACILITY IN THE DESTINATION CITY

So, pissed off, I called Newegg to get a refund on my shipping cost. (They picked up on the first ring, no hold time!) They refunded the shipping cost no-questions-asked, and the customer service rep told me that one of their head gurus will be meeting with a UPS head guru next week to discuss UPS' sh!tty service. The rep also said that UPS has broken its service contract with newegg because of so many bad shipments and that UPS will likely lose the contract.

They should have known better than to switch to UPS in the first place. I bet their customer care traffic tripled after they did. UPS probably gave them the old, we can save you * if you switch from fedex, but what you dont realize is along with that savings you will have to hire more people in customer care to handle the hate calls about products being DoA or SoA (smashed on arrival). Same thing happened at my father's corporation.

Good! One of the major reasons I preferred newegg was because of the FedEx Super Saver shipping. I've been moving away from the 'egg more and more lately, and the UPS move only pushed me further in that direction. If they drop UPS and go back to FedEx as the default, I'd take it as a sign that the 'egg might have stopped deterioriating.

Agreed. ZipZoomFly free 2-day FedEx > *

If ZZF could have as good inventory as NE, I'd dump NE completely.

My only UPS shipment fom newegg was a day late and the only one that ever came from New Jersey.

Tracking showed it in NJ until the day it was delivered. That's tracking?

You see this newegg? Send me a gift.

This is the best news I've heard since............Newegg started using UPS. I got better shipping service when I was ordering from Newegg to an APO and had to rely on USPS.

Yay! UPS sucks.

One of my several experiences:
UPS driver can't find my street address in their system because I live in a new subdivision.
UPS driver made up an address and dropped it off at some house 2 cities over.
My address and my phone number are clearly on the parcel. He/she never tried to do anything like research it or (logical thing) call me so I can give them directions. Biggest idiots ever.

UPS is horrible.... Fedex is 100% better than UPS.

The best thing about Fedex is that they will actually deliver the package earlier than the paid shipping time if they can, as opposed to UPS who will actually let the package sit until the date you paid to have it delivered, even if it arrived at the destination office sooner than ordered. Also at least half of the orders I've made that were shipped via UPS never arrived on time. I cannot stand them. It's gotten to the point where I won't use a specific retailer if UPS is their only shipping option.

I love newegg and they get stuff out fast, but them choosing to offer UPS shipping was dumb. UPS is worthless.

FedEx has terrible customer service too. I choose FedEx because it's cheaper.

Whenever I order from NE, I always have them ship it FedEx Saver. Paying extra expedited delivery makes no sense with NE since they ship right away anyway.

Complete opposite in my area. UPS will deliver the day it's on the truck even if that's not the day scheduled, while I've had at least a dozen packages sent fedex that came here and went back to the sort facility (which is 60 miles away). I talked to the primary FedEx driver for here and he said that's the policy, but didn't specify whether it was local or national policy. Granted, he did also say that he'd sneak the packages over a day early if he noticed my address on one of them, but he's the exception to the rule in this area.

YES! Down with the Evil Shipping Empire!

Newegg needs to drop them like Humpty Dumpty. UPS is the spawn of lucifer.

I used to use mwave, then switched to newegg.
My current machine was put together from ewiz, zzf, svc, egay and atacom.
I saved a solid 10-15% over newegg.

If it's all about price, they'd better pull their collective head out of their huge sucking sphincter and take a look around.

Add their pricing algorithm that jacks prices up on demand, and they've created a poorly pleased customer out of me.

the problem with zzf is they dont do price adjustments AT ALL if price goes down in the following couple weeks (where newegg has been incredible...it makes me feel good to get those 2-3 bucks (sometimes more) credited back to my acct, newegg has a good RMA service, while ZZF has a 15% restocking fee, I used to like ZZF, and would go with the 'underdog' when items were the same price, now I am sticking to newegg and others, ZZF lost me as a customer, they were very unhelpful and impolite on the phone too, and it took forever to get ahold of someone
*rant mode off*

Newegg would never give me price adjustments at all. claiming they'd only give it too me if the price changed during the processing time.

I made my first purchase in a while yesterday and just paid extra for the FedEx delivery.
