Newegg taking a beating over on Reseller Ratings

Well...at least from all the glowing reviews they used to get.

I haven't bought from them since the switch but I really liked the service I got from FedEx. I guess old' brown won't drop off a package without a sig,yet you can't go down to the center and pick it up?!?! That seems to be the main gripe--and UPS IMO has always been slow to deliver.

Hmmm,Newegg certainly doesn't have a lock on anything, have to see how this shakes out. From what I hear they still plan to go public about this time next year.

i prefer fedex
i haven't purchased from egg since the changed

i don't even know where the ups center is around here

I'm fine with either really to be honest, yes I prefer Fedex but I really don't care too much since I haven't had a bad experience with any yet.

Ordered a flash drive for a friend, cost like $12. Shipping was $4 via UPS and $8.50 with Fedex :Q:Q No brainer there! For $4.50 I can afford to send it back if it's damaged...and still save money :Q

When they offered FedEx shipping only it was great, packages almost always arrived a day earlier and I never got a damaged box.... UPS on the other hand, packages almost always arrive in poor shape, thankfully no damage to the items inside but still seems like the package took a beating.

I wish they ditch UPS and go back to good old FedEx at the rates there were before!

I also don't see the big difference. The only advantage of FedEx is their facility is about a mile from my house so picking it up isn't a big hassle like it would be for UPS. On the other hand, how often do I need to go pick up packages?

Yeah, that has pissed me off lately. I ordered parts to build a new system two weeks ago, but just got them two days ago. I work 12 day shifts, so I had to wait for a day off before I could get my packages. And they didn't deliver until 4:50PM, so I ended up hanging around the apartment all day, what a waste. And no one in my apartment building would sign for the packages, the hippy sons of bitches.

Are you kidding me? I used UPS for all three of the orders I've made with Newegg since they offered UPS' services. They all arrived fine.

People are so damn whiny.

Oh yeah, all of my packages have been left without a signature.

My UPS center is about half a mile into what seems like a five square mile warehouse district with no lights to speak of. No way will I go there to pick up anything after dark even if I could.

Good thing we're on good terms with our UPS guy. He hasn't been over for a bbq in a while.

yes just because everything goes smooth for you everyone else must be whiny. There is an obvious problem that newegg needs to correct fast. This isn't initial complaining that happens right after a big change and people just haven't adjusted. The UPS switch happened awhile ago and people are STILL complaining. I no longer use newegg because of their shipping policies with UPS. Its almost like they intentially jack up the price on fedex to get people to use UPS.

UPS has damaged 100% of the packages i have had sent to me, and im not kidding. Ive had 7 insurance battles with UPS, some winding up settling way below the value i insured it for when THEY damaged it.

God forbid anyone criticize Fedex.

I'm still in a sh!tty situation with NewEgg over a UPS shipment, from now on, I'll pay the extra to have my junk shipped FedEx, I cannot stand UPS

FedEx >>>>>>>>>>>> UPS

UPS always take an extra 2-3 days over their estimated delivery date
FedEx is almost always a day early though

Aside from Newegg using UPS to ship products, what other complaints do some of you have with Newegg?

Whiny when their stuff arrives late, damaged, or dripping wet? UPS is a POS company at best.

UPS and FedEx are both fine for me. They're the same around here in terms of delivery (which is great). It seems to me that it's just popular to bash UPS right now. I remember when it used to be the other way around. *shrug*

UPS has beat the crap out of every package I've got from them. At our local hub they leave the door open when you go in and you can see the workers loading and unloading the truck. Half the packages didn't even make it off the truck without hitting the floor. Not to mention the guys laughing as they're throwing the packages around and basically not giving a flying f&ck about what they're doing. Not to mention they're slower.

Fedex, well they've always delivered packages in VERY GOOD shape, and they deliver them faster as well. I'm sure after newegg sees all the destroyed packages and whatnot they'll go back to FEDEX only.
