I can't beleve this .... I would have never expected this from newegg.

I orderd a pair of Abit Nforce2 board last friday and they took untill wednesday to get them here ... a little anoyed no big deal
I tryed the 1st board and it was DOA .. anoyed but it happens
I tryed the second board and it was DOA ... getting a little pissed.
Called newegg and orderd new boards on thursday morning overnite so i could send the old ones in at my leasure and they told me i would have the new ones today .. ok feeling a little better.
The boards didn't ship on thursday ... getting pissed and called newegg "there is nothing we can do about it".
Orderd speakers from newegg at about 3pm never expecting them to ship today, they shiped and are tracking in the fedex system. Now im really pissed since the tracking number they gave me for the motherboards that "went out at 9am today" are not tracking and the speakers are. I called fedex and they clame they never picked up the package from newegg. With newegg closed i cant get anyone untill monday so im fearing the mobos are lost and im going to be at least the middle of next week getting them in. Meanwhile my living room looks like a PC warehouse with about $2500 worth of new hardware strung all over the place for these 2 computers that i dont have any motherboards for and my wife is about to string me up over it.

Really sad, but ture <end rant>

I was wondering why you weren't hot on DoverLAN's heals by now... Sounds like the race will be back on as soon as you get those 2 beasts flying. Hope you have better luck with you 2 new boards do0d, we need the production for DF.

Best of luck to you!

Man, if it helps, I feel your pain. I read tons of posts about Newegg's shipping but I have never been impressed. I order on Sunday and get it on Thursday. Not bad, but nothing special at all. Directron, Googlegear, Axiontech, Mwave all do as good or better IMO. Axion is 48 hours ground, but they are only one state away.

The deal you are stuck in now really bites.

did you check all your other parts to make sure it was really the mobo is the problem? i mean it does happen, but it is extremely rare to get two brand new parts of any sort and have them both be dead.

CHECK THE SWITCH ON THE BACK OF THE CASE...

On the power supply, make sure it is on the 110/115volt side and not the 220 volt side. Don't worry, it won't harm your motherboard if you plugged it in that way (just supplies undercurrent). But, it's a little thing that everyone misses. Most cases seem to ship brand new in the 220 volt position by default. Your motherboard won't power up right and you may get a series of beeps until you put it on 115.

Anyway.. If you already checked, I'm not accusing you of being a moron or anything. When I worked at a computer store, it was a constant problem. It happens a lot more than you'd think.

Heh.. I RMA'd a motherboard once when the power was on 220volts.. I felt so dumb.

I have to agree with this. Whenever I build a system, if it doesnt boot properly, I try each piece out in a working system to see which is the problem. Getting two bad boards in a row can happen, but its not really all that likely.

Ive seen Fedex update shipping status on one item, and not another, making it seem as though one is stuck in Ft Worth while the other is in Austin, yet both packages arrive together.

The Abit board will act like it's dead. If you jump through the right hoops it will spring to life. Trust me. Mine died several times before I got it up and running.

Newegg usually ships the same day (if I order before ~3pm eastern), and I typically have my order in two days. The one time I had to return a bunch of stuff, they waived the restocking fee, saving me about 20 bucks...I'm very happy with them. :D

I have been trouble shooting these boards for the last 3 days they simply will not post. No beeps no video no nothing. One booted up once then went dead again some sort of fluke i guess. I have tryed 3 PSU's, 3 CPU's, 3 dimms, and 3 video cards (2 agp and one pci). I have tryed every combo with all this hardware in the case and on the bench and noting except for the one time, trust me they are dead. :)

I have orderd over $3500 from newegg in the last year without a hitch they are entitled to a mess up with that record.

I don't see where they stuck it to you.

Newegg's website clearly states that orders take 1 to 2 business days to process before shipping.

Fedex Economy is 3 day service. If you get it quicker than that, cool but it should not be expected. Even if you pay for overnite shipping, you still have that 1-2 day processing time.

So you got two bad boards. That's the fault of the manufacturer, not Newegg.

the nforce boards are supposed to be really picky about memory. If you got two bad ones, newegg probably got a bad batch and need to replace the whole lot instead of sending more dead boards out. Also, newegg offers ASAP handling for like $3. You didn't specify if you paid it or not.

I get more annoyed at fedex who holds on to the packages in the warehouse just a few miles from the house in a "you didn't pay for next day" hostage situation. I've had to go down and pick up the packages from fedex directly too many times... especially annoying since I could just drive to newegg in about 30 minutes more than it takes to drive to fedex.

My friend ordered the Abit nforce2 motherboard from newegg too.

We thought the motherboard was dead at first, it powered up but no video no beep(like the board u had).
We tried everything, i mean EVERYTHING because the board is new retail. Then we found out that it's the "Clear CMOS" Jumper!!!!
I never thought of that because all the motherboard i dealt with before this will not even power up if the jumper is on "discharge" mode. This abit motherboard powered up but no video no beep while it's in "DISCHARGE" mode!!!

We switch the jumper to "Normal" and it works fine.

Maybe you should check the jumper nearest to the battery.

i feel ya man. they did the same thing to me. i ordered a geforce4 from googlegear and got the 2 day it got shipped out early thursday and got to a place bout thirty miles out early saturday. i called and asked wtf was going on and they very rudely told me that it takes 3 days and i said ya but it hasnt come on the 3rd day and blah blah blah. and the tracking was all messed up to.

I have sticked to ups till this last order and now i know i will use ups as mcuh as possible. fedex needs to pull there heads out of there asses

Remove the battery, Unplug the PSU, unplug the 12V and ATX connector, and clear the CMOS. Plug everything back up after a couple of minutes and power up while holding down the <insert> key.

From reading your post , it doesn't seem like Newegg stuck you at all, thing like this sometime take some extra time, maybe they just ran out of supply , or they're check the new motherboard before sending it to you. As for 2 DOA motherboards,, ARE they RMAs?? are they "new" retail then you should really check all your jumpers etc? You said you try out with tryed 3 PSU's, 3 CPU's, 3 dimms,, perhaps,, all 3 of your PS are underpower? maybe 1 or 2 doa?, why do you need to test with 3 cpus anyway, 1 working cpu or the most 2 should be enough to test it.. as for 3 dimm, what ram you test them with,,?? By inputing more info the next person that has a similar problem will know what to do.

Why should you be pissed at newegg? It says to allow up to 48 hours processing and they do have a rush processing option for $2.99 I believe. Friday till Wednesday is the standard for shipping. If you wanted them sooner, pay up! They don't move on the weekends.

The motherboards aren't lost, just not in the fedex system yet. Give it up dude, want stuff faster, then pay up! It's not neweggs fault the boards are DOA.

I'm curious. What does holding down the <insert> key while powering up do?
