I recently assembled a cart of the following items.

1 - 14g tube of thermal paste
1 - 3g tube of thermal paste
1 - 92mm case fan w/ accessories
1 - 60ml set of thermal paste remover.

Total shipping cost: $17.

This is maybe one and a half pounds of stuff. Why the heck does it cost $17?

Where else do you think they make their profit from?

Why would you buy cooling stuff, let alone TIM, from newegg? There are a number of e-retailers that specialize in computer cooling accessories with cheap shipping for HSF and fans, and free shipping for TIM. SVC is one of those e-retailers. You fail.

Overnight shipping? You forgot to mention the method.

FYI, I recently ordered 2 hard drives, a 120mm fan, and a cheap desk phone. 3-day shipping was $11.57

I never buy that type of stuff from Newegg; never have because they destroy you on shipping.

I use Jab-tech.com frequently. PCToys.com has good prices and shipping sometimes as well.

Newegg is starting to lose my interest in buying from them. I do have a line of credit through them that i use a lot however. Probably the only thing that keeps me buying from there.

They now use a combo of DHL/USPS for their free Eggsaver 3-7 days shipping. By themselves the 2 worst shippers, together they add a new dimension to slowwwww.

I ordered 2 sticks of ram from them with free Eggsaver shipping. It shipped from their NJ warehouse. I live only 1 state away. DHL shipped it to Hebron, KY, 500 miles west of me, and then tendered it to USPS. Tracking stopped, never did get a tracking email from Newegg. 9 days after it was shipped I received it.

It all depends on what profit they want to make from an item. It sure as hell doesn't cost $11.50 to ship an SDHC card but they charge that much on some of them.

Their prices including shipping are starting to become no better than any other online source.

IIRC it's because they don't calculate by total weight, they have a certain set shipping amount for each individual item and they don't discount for multiple items, even if they can all fit in the same box as the first item and are right next to each other on the shelves.

Therefore, if the minimum cost of shipping any 1 item is $3-5 (which is reasonable depending on your location compared to their location, IMHO) then the MINIMUM shipping amount on 4 items totals $12-$20.

Essentially, you don't save any money in shipping costs for ordering multiple items.

I go for free shipping with Newegg when I can, but with how fast I get things from them usually the shipping cost is worth it. That being said I just got a 30 pound printer shipped for free and waited only 1 day (Edison, NJ warehouse FTW!) for it.

The particular fan I need (!@#$ 80mm holes....) is only sold in a few places, all of which charge quite a bit more.

Also, $7 for a 14-gram tube of the cheap Arctic Silver stuff is hard to argue with.

3-day shipping. Overnight was almost $60 - half again more than the cost of the order.

I ordered some RAM from TigerDirect tuesday afternoon.

I received it Wednesday.

And that was the cheap shipping - cost me $6!

I ordered some paste while back that had free shipping. Shipped from the Memphis warehouse, 2 hours away from my home, but because it was free shipping, they shipped my order to IL. it then got shipped to WI, which at that point they handed it off to the USPS firstclass mail, and took a further 2 more days to get to me. Something that light, that was 2 hours away, took 6 days to get to me, I called and threw a fit for that was bs, I needed it right away I told them, and paid the tax on it, and could of gotten it cheaper somewhere else, but figured I would have it next day and pay the tax and all to get it fast, and it went all over the mid south.

Needless to say they refunded all my money back to me, and gave me a $10 credit, which I will use, and will be the LAST time I ever buy from Newegg again. I have found Tiger to be VERY close on their prices, can find a coupon for $1.99 shipping or free over $100, and since they are next state over I get my stuff next day or two days after I order and NO frekin fuckin taxes. Newegg has lost me forever in being a customer with them. Put a fork in me Im done, for this is not the only time this has happened to me.

I ordered the parts for a new computer. Case, mobo, cpu, mem, HD, Graphics Card,PSU, HSF, Artic Silver. The 3-5 business day shipping via fedex was 268.00. The over night from UPS was 108. 3-5day from UPS was 43.00.

The same shipping 3 years ago for the previous machine was around 29.00 for overnight from fedex.

I went with the overnight from UPS. But I found it hard to believe that they even thought of putting the 268.00 for 3-5 business days from fedex up there. That was ridiculous.

QFT

Jab-tech, SVC, Sidewinder are all better for the cooling products.

SVC.com,jab-tech.com, sidewindercomputers.com are all much better/cheaper for those items.
