Newegg sent me the wrong item! Pay for return shipping?

I don't think they should, becuase it's there screw up, not yours. But then again, it won't cost that much to ship them back will it?

Seems like newegg is starting to become a faulty retailer. I'm not saying they suck. Infact, they're terrific. But the shipping problems that have plagued oh so many stores throughout the last century, is catching up with newegg.

Comp625, what you fail to realize is that Newegg is probably doing more shipping that the other hardware retailers. Mistakes can, and will happen. As long as they make good I see no problem.

When you do as much business as them...you are bound to have some problems. Plus they are run by humans..which are prone to error now and then. NewEgg is still a great company and definately the best one to buy online parts. You will hear 10 horror stories before the 1000's of good stories. Problems happen, but NewEgg is one of the best at resolving these issues.

Had a similar problem with a UK company - they sent me the wrong video card and wanted ME to pay for the return shipping.

I just argued with them on the phone until they got sick and sent a courier around my house to pick it up.

Bottom line ? complain and don?t give up ? you?re the customer and always right! 🙂

If you are referring to my thread it must have been OK what I was doing or else the Mods would have either locked it or moved it...

True that. I know they have shipping problems because I have experienced them firsthand. But I am not writing this to complain. I am writing to brag (hehe).

I ordered a video card for a friend that was $40 on their site at the time. When it came, we got to looking at the serial #, and it was a video card that was selling for $275. Newegg screwed up, but I am singing their praises.

Clink, clink. There's my 2.

<< Do you think they will make me pay for the return shipping even though it's THEIR fault? >>

Happened to me once. I paid for shipping, e-mailed them a copy of the receipt and they credited my cc. Call them, they'll work with you.

Since it was their error, they should pay for return shipping. You shouldn't have to pay anything for their mistake.

They have refunded me return shipping for exchanges and for rmas up to 10 dollars to my cc.
Give em a call. They will surely refund you.

I had a problem with newegg couple of times. They sent me completely broken items. They did fix it but shipping had to come out of my pocket.

And why is it that their retail items are not shrink wrapped? It seems like the items been opened before. Hmmm.

Maybe that's why they give you pretty good prices by putting used items and returns in the retail box.

My friend had problems with like 4 AMD CPUs from them. But he just notified them and basically refunded his credit card after he paid for the shipping first. Just contact them. I'm sure they'll also refund your shipping charges as well.
