Man this its really tempting to put a 2nd one of these in my desktop...

Edit: And the fact that I have 2 $15 Newegg gift cards lying around just tipped the scales!

Amazon just reduced the price to $ 159.99 as well (was $ 169.99 just few mins ago), so for those in Newegg Tax State, but not Amazon Tax State, you will be able to get the same deal as others.

EDIT: LOL, it looks like it's gone.. or Amazon temporariliy removed it as it's no longer available.

Looking at the newegg reviews, the m4 seems to have a slightly higher proportion of failures, so I've held out for the 830 to come down in price. The m4 has already been this low.

Darn, getting closer and closer to my threshold price of $150 before BF!

May as well buy, because the 830 is being replaced by the 840 (available 10/23) with TLC NAND and higher prices (comparing "pre-order" pricing of the 840 versus "street" pricing of the 830). Deals only last until they run out of inventory.

Agreed, the 840 Pro is the real successor to the 830. Remains to be seen how long Samsung can hold on to the Pro's retail price premium. The regular 840's TLC Nand with it's much lower write cycles and inconsistencies of performance has me ranking the 830 over it for now.

I still have a spare 128GB 830 and if the price doesn't meet my threshold by BfF then I'll just have to stick with my spare 128GB. But even with the new 840, OCZ will always be there to spoil the price!
