NewEgg - rush order processing

Depends on what shipping you're getting IMO. If you're getting Egg Saver it doesn't matter... it'll wind up sitting in a warehouse near where you live for a while anyhow.

I've never found a reason to get this unless you order something around 2PM PST. I typically make my orders around 11AM to 1PM EST, so Rush Processing would be a waste of $3.

has always shipped same day for me anyway, latest i've ever ordered was like 3pm and it still shipped

I dunno.. I recently ordered something with overnight shipping at 9 in the morning and it didn't ship out same day. You'd think they might make an effort to ship same day if someone pays for overnight shipping.

Makes me wonder if they did it on purpose since I didn't pay for the rush processing.

I used to when I had money to blown on new multi-thousand dollar computers but now days I have to make every cent count when I buy something, so I pass every time.

Seems to still get here as fast.

I placed an order with them yesterday about 2:45pm central time, it was shipped the same day. I'd say it's probably not worth it.

I think they don't change a thing about how your order is processed when you get rush processing. They're already breaking their necks trying to get all orders out ASAP. It's just 3 free $$ for newegg IMO.

I usually get the default shipping and get the goods the next day. Tennessee distribution center FTW! Tennessee 9.25% tax FTL!

depends. If it is a friday and I want to make sure it goes out to UPS on friday and not sit around until monday, then yes I pay for it. Otherwise no.

Has anyone placed an order today? I ordered a graphics card this afternoon and rush order processing is now $3.99. I didn't pay it. I kind of wonder if they went up on me or on everyone? I asked for and was granted a refund of $2.99 earlier this week after my last order didn't ship until 4 days after I placed the order. I was told they would do it "this one time as a courtesy", but that's not how their policy spells it out. And their policy still has $2.99 in it today.

Hey, I placed an order today - 7:30 AM EST. without priority processing, offered for $3.99. The status changed to shipped at around 3:45 PM, no tracking number yet though. It would be amazing if I get everything tomorrow - putting everything together during a long weekend!

So they have gone up $1.00 on their rush processing fee. And it's very apparent that the $3.99 fee is a ruse. I placed my order about 3:45pm EST, so we'll see if I get a shipped notice this evening. I may have been too late for today, but if my order gets shipped tomorrow, I'll be satisfied.

I'm glad Newegg generally ships the same day if an order is placed by roughly early to mid afternoon. But they shouldn't be charging a fee for something they already do. Doesn't make them look too good. One guess I have for the charge may be to offset the free shipping they offer on many of their products at various times. Reckon??? One more thing I've learned through experience concerns free shipping on very small items, such as flash drives. They're going to go through DHL to the Post Office, and it takes at least a week for the order to be delivered. Pickup by DHL takes 2 to 3 days, then DHL holds the order in Kentucky for 3 to 4 days before handing it off to the Post Office, then the Post Office delivers the order in just 2 days. I've had this happen to me twice in the last 2+ weeks. One order took 10 days to get to me and the other 8 days. If you need something small quickly, use paid shipping.

Yes, actually, each time I add rush processing fee, my order gets shipped out before noon time which means half the time it gets on a plane the same day, ending up at my house within 2 days instead of 3, but I only use it on bulk orders.

(I live in Texas)

I paid it once a long time ago, but typically I look at the stuff in my shopping cart for days before deciding to buy anyways. I figure if I can take time deciding how to spend money, I can be patient in receiving it.

I also know from working in the e-commerce B2C for many years, that rush shipping and extras fees like it are a way for the company to make pure profit without providing much additional service. In the case with Newegg, it may just mean that the shuffle your order to the top of the next run to make sure it ships same day.

If it is something I need tomorrow and I'm already paying out the ass for overnight shipping, then yes. Another $3 to try to get it out that day is worth it.

Newegg shipping can be so strange. If the order doesn't ship same day, it usually doesn't ship for 2 or 3 days.
