I have to request for the 1st time an RMA. Guess my luck ran out. one of the laptop drives i ordered was DOA/defective. just clicks.

Anyhow requested RMA # online, and they give me their UPS return offer. $7.55

Is there any benefit to using their UPS offer besides a nice printed label? faster replacement, maybe?

Priority mail is only 4.80. Delivery time is pretty much the same from Bay area down to socal. 2 days.

UPS is automatically insured up to $100. Paying for USPS Priority with insurance is still cheaper. You're shipping relatively close (Bay Area to SoCal), if I were you I'd just ship it First Class + Insurance.

NewEgg RMAs = FTW

I had a good RMA with them. I got a faulty router, and emailed them.. Sent it back, they gave me $10 for shipping and I got a new router. :)

My first RMA was similar. The hard drive I purchased was defective, it would not be recognized after every turn off or reboot and I would have to hard power off (eg. psu switch) for it to be recognized again. So, I had an RMA refund and talked to a Alex something... and had the re-stocking fee dropped and I paid for the UPS shipping. It went smooth.

The most recent RMA, would be the Nintendo DS Lite I bought my mother for x-mas, which happened to be defective too. The internal mic wouldn't work and it wouldn't recognize an external mic either(and yes the games needed it.). Currently this on is going in for replacement. I suppose I could have gone up to BB or CC but they were OOS. :( Hoping the next one isn't defective.

Newegg used to great with returns now they are worse than private ebay sellers.

You can't even get a refund on broken items. You can't exchange for different items. You have to pay return shipping. 15% restocking fee. Price get jacked up in many new items.

Even worst buy is better than newegg when it comes to return policy.
