Can anyone who done multiple rma of the same item at newegg explain how their system work?

Do they just let you request a new rma number using that same item in the invoice? And how do they let you know that a replacement have been sent back to you? as a new order?

<--trying to design a rma system and not sure what's a good way to go about it...
 
well, i'm not in the us so it'd be hard to see the rma web page...

i'm just not sure how to deal with multiple rma on the same item, do you create a rma on the original invoice, then when the rma get's shipped back, create another invoice, and then if you want an rma again, do a rma on the new invoice,

or is there a better way to do it...

Are you trying to return defective gear, or do you want to double dip and get an extra payment?
 
okay, i must have explained myself badly.

I'm just trying to figure out how newegg's web page deals with rmaing an item say twice. you rma it one time, received a defective one back, then rma it again.

How would their rma web page display in that case?
 
Too bad you're not in the U.S. They have an 800 (toll free) number. Try e-mailing them to ask for instructions on how to handle this. They have a good rep so they should be able to help you. 🙂
 
Geez, how difficult can it be to give this poor person an answer, or at least an "I don't know" if you don't know?? :roll:

If you take a replacement item on your rma, they ship you out the item, I believe, as a new invoice number. I know that a number is assigned to the rma item. I usually request a replacement item, but I've only ever done returns on refurbished items, and have always just gotten a refund, due to the fact that they don't have a replacement item.

thank you marvdmartian! that's how i think it should be done, as a new invoice, so you can track the shipping status just like any other normal item right?

i'm guessing if you need to rma a replacemnt a second time, you pick that new invoice?

I'll try thier contact page too, though they've been very slow in replying...
