Newegg RMA question

Does anyone know if newegg accepts RMAs for computer cases? I know that they have a "no physical damage" policy for returns, but what other reason would I have to return a computer case?

I just called them on the phone and waited for about 10 min on hold, got ahold of a rep and asked him the question and their system suddenly disconnected me before I could get an answer. I called back and their phone message told me that newegg was closed and I'd have to call back tomorrow =(

I don't want to RMA this case only to have it get sent back to me in the same state. Has anyone else successfully RMA'd a case with newegg?

It looks like it was damaged in the factory. The case was in a box with a ton of packing materials to prevent damage, so I don't know how a dent this size would have gotten there during shipment.

Call them up tomorrow, they are usually pretty helpful. Make sure you request that they credit you for shipping costs tho, since it isn't your fault.

Okay, but has anyone here actually returned a case to Newegg? I don't even mind paying the shipping cost to them so long as I get a non-gimp case

They should RMA it if it is obvious that the defect is from the factory instead of physically damaged by you.

I had the same thing happen to me with my most recent case order. It's kind of a pain in the ass, but Newegg won't RMA the case, instead they'll file a claim against Fedex. It turns out that they ended up just shipping me a new case (same make/model) and they let me keep the old one. Of course, be prepaired to wait a month while all this shakes down. Anyhow, it worked out for me, you just have to have patience.

NewEgg will take it back, but call them and complain about receiving a damaged part.
You will have to pay the freight return, but insist that they provide compensation for your cost.
It will take about a week for them to receive and inventory the part, then they will send out the replacement

They will definitely RMA it but you are out the cost of shipping it back and it will take around 1.5-2 weeks total time.

This has been my experience with newegg RMA's.

Yep, they don't care really but will do an RMA no questions asked but you will have to pay to ship it back. You can long into your account and do the RMA from their site without even talking to anyone.

Once i got a case from newegg and the plastic front had a big crack and some of the connectors were screwed up in the front. I called them and they would have accepted an RMA, but instead after I explained it they just sent me a replacement plastic front of the case for free. 🙂

I can't remember what process I went through when I had something similar happen with my case but they ended up just sending me a new one and let me keep the old one too. Worked out nice, I just used the beat up one as a backup comp.

Newegg did the same thing for me.

Well, I've called them and they're going to battle it out with fedex. Hopefully this results in the same kind of deal that Dedpulh and mindmaniac got =p
