Newegg has always been my first choice site whenver I need computer related parts. I did a negative review of a Thermaltake case. Received an email from them that my review was not suitable. No swear words and no put down of Thermaltake.

Hmm....this makes me wonder if Newegg has a large invenory position they may be a tad touchy of negative reviews.

They dont influence my purchase, not only are they heavily filtered, but half the reviewers dont even own the item they are reviewing.

Newegg or any other commercial site for that matter can not, and should not tell you how great they are, because this is meaningless, unless you're a retard.
What they're doing is called 'advertisment'... plain and simple, I belive they also have a disclaimer there, saying you shouldn't make your decision based on the 'reviews' they post.
So, while reading those reviews may be entertaining, and rarely even educational, you should NEVER make your buying decision based on them.
After I decide about somthing I want to get, then I may read some reviews, knowing most of them are either fake, or screened.

I replaced the mobo in a dell pc and used a mobo I got from newegg, and wrote a review about it. It was returned to me, I wasn't allowed to mention "dell", you're not allowed to say their competitors names, but dell is hardly a competitor to newegg for hardware. They blanked out dell, like this, "I replaced my motherboard in my xxxx pc with this board." Hmm, what do you think the xxxx means, certainly not dell. :)

I look for reviewers who point out minor annoyances or problems with products. My reviews are always fairly positive but I try to point out any issues I had and I refuse to spam the newegg rocks garbage. All of my reviews have been posted.

I look for compatibility (ex: When buying a heatink, does it fit my mobo? Does this RAM work with my board and does it overclock well?)

They don't influence my purchase unless they hate it, but anything that is getting 4 or 5 stars from a reasonable number of reviewers can generally be trusted.

generally, if i see reviews like, "i tried to put the mobo in my case, but if fell apart before i could do that." i wont buy it. even if it got really good benchmarks or whatever. usually, i just follow AT, and other sites, and use newegg for the reliability stuff.

Those are the reviews I pay attention to as well.

Newegg may censor truly negative reviews, but they do seem to accept reviews that point out flaws. I've also read a fair number of negative reviews so they do accept some of those too.

Yeah, I trust the reviews on AnandTech FAR more than those on Newegg. Newegg is a shopping site, and a fine one at that. But for hardware info, et. al., AandT is a hardware review, technical support, PC info, etc. site. You can't even compare one to the other.

You may have to read many of those reviews to find the "stealth negatives" - you will find that some will give the item a 4 or 5 star rating and then use carefully worded zings within the review. But many of the reviews are worthless. Regardless, Newegg's "owner" reviews (and others like Pricegrabber or epinion or amazon) are 1 of about 10 factors I consider when buying.
. The user reviews on Techimo.com don't pull many punches. I know I describe the negatives right up front in mine.

I second the motion that they're a good site to shop (product photos, useful links to manufacturer's site, shipping cost is right there to see it, easy order tracking/etc). But they could stop doing the reviews and I wouldn't miss them at all. Ditto for their self-glorifying endorsements that they plaster all over their site.

Also, they still do not have a way to order pizza from their site :frown:

Somewhat.
If I'm torn between a couple of similar items, I'll check the reviews. I usually am interested in reading what the negative aspects of a product are rather than all the glowing, warm fuzzy reviews.

Only if it's about the strength, weight, and quality of a computer case. What's the point of reading reviews on videocards if all of them just say "OMG this card is the best and NEWEGG ROCKS!!!!!!"?
