Just don't whine later if:
(a) your video card doesn't come with cables, DVI->VGA, or software
(b) your antec case has no screws, power cord, or manual
(c) your motherboard is missing the I/O shield, cables, and driver disk

If you're prepared for the above, go for it!

I got a Refurb video card from them not too long ago. It didn't last, so i RMA'd it. The RMA was a breeze but i was out about 10 bucks.

Yeah, all you get is the bare stuff, so be prepared!

I got a 550 truepower for $70 last time. Came with everything. Probably just my luck.

Newegg refurbished = someone sent it back to them, they don't care why, and they ship it out to you at a discount because its cheaper than returning it to the supplier.

in other words, DON'T get something refurbished if you are in a time crunch.

If you've got money to chance with, refurb is a fine idea.

On the other hand, if you are in a hurry, or don't want to take a big risk, steer clear!

The last 3 refurbed MB from Newegg had all the original parts with them and they all worked fine. The last 3 cpus from them all worked fine as well. I have had 2 bad MB however but the rma back to them was a breeze. YMMV, but I will always take a chance on a Newegg refurb.

I bought a refurb motherboard from Newegg about a year ago. (Shuttle AK35GT2/R) When I got it, the board would not even post, so I RMA'ed it back to them. I got another one back from them fine and to be honest, I have never been more pleased with a board, even though it was a refurb. Normally, I would be weary of refurbs unless they come with a decent RMA policy, which newegg definitely does. I'd order their refurbs again anyday.

I'm also wondering whether I should be cheap and get a refurb case and MB. I guess it's 50/50 whether they have all the parts.

I have mixed experiences with refurbs from newegg. I bought a refurb Tyan Tiger MP mobo that was a total piece of crap. On the other hand, I bought a refurb USB 2.0 hard drive housing about a year ago, and it's still working great. :)

I have also bought numerous refurbed fans and a few odds and ends (IDE cables, an AT→PS/2 keyboard adapter, things like that) without incident.
