i bought a few things from newegg.com and quit satisfied with the shipping, price and products. it's been 11 days now since i ordered that wireless router from buy.com and it's still not here yet...wtf!!??!!! (whoops, wrong forum...my bad)...but yeah, get those vcards from newegg before it's all gone. nice find.

I just received my dual output Radeon VE ordered from NEWEGG today.
Turns out it is a VGA/DVI card.
Does anyone know where I can get a DVI to VGA adaptor?
How much do these things cost?
I might have to return this card.

Thanks,
R

the refurb price is not impressive. it's the same at least one month ago.

better buy a brand new one with a little more money -- then you get warranty card in box!

i've returned several DOA junk refurb to newegg. and i believe newegg resold my returns.

I can't believe that these stupid Newegg refurbished items are still being posted as hot deals. I wish someone could tell me the difference between a used computer part and a used automobile. I don't see any used cars being posted as hot deals. I suppose these posts are by members that do not possess enough under their helmet to go and find real hot deals.

Yes but the difference here is that with cars, there are many moving parts and things always go wrong down the road. With PC components (video cards etc.), on the other hand, there are usually no moving parts and things usually still work the exact same 5 years down the road as they did out of the box. I know many people with 10-year-old PCs that still function properly.

these are used but they are gauranteed to work. They have been qualified by the manufacturer again. If you buy some part from some ebay seller, youre not going to get that. Thats called used.
As for these prices, not that impressive as someone has already said.

mwave.com and tcwo.com both have such dongles for semi-reasonable prices.

They are NOT gauranteed to work,, all Newegg refurbish product are mostly customer returns for one reason or another,,. mostly they don't even check to see if they work or not,... I know, got a few DOA from them.

Here's what's written in their policy(all the way in the bottom: " 1 Refurbished products are products that contain components that have been owned by other clients and returned to NewEgg.com"

So gettting new stuff from newegg equal ,++++++, but getting refurbish stuff from newegg equals --------maybe some Oks or + if you're lucky

if they do not offer the same gaurantee that they offer with no products on these "refurb" products then they are not truly refurbished

just so the peep's who are dissing the newegg video cards, I once bought a GF3 OEM refurb Gainward and they sent me a retail box POWER pack GAINWARD. It included everything including dvi connection. All the other oem refurbs I have purchased have worked fine.

I think its funny that most of the people who bad mouth newegg have never bought anything from them or bought maybe 1 or 2 items at the most.

At least newegg sells refurb-close outs-open box items as refurbs,,,,what are all the other dealers doing with there returns?? If you tell me there going back to the manufacture and not being resold as new I have some magic beans I want to sell you.

Also newegg is great about returning items-they have a 800# to call-(most dont for returns), And when you do get a bad refurb they more than make up for it-look at all the people who got $50+ plus refund back or FREE cases on the refurb cases that were less than perfect.

At least 90% of the refurb stuff I receive is either brand new-close out or a refurb straight from the manufacture-I bought a bunch of those refurb visiontek gts video cards for $39 a piece shipped--They all were nicer than the oem ones I bought at $49+$6 shipping--They all had the newer 5.5ns memory-all were the newer revision C. And look at all the people who just bought those refurb epox 8kha+ for $59 shipped-most were unused with just a newer bios chip installed.

This week I received a refurb Gigabyte GA-7VTXE motherboard from newegg that I bought for $39 shipped, when I ordered it I thought it was listed as a GA-7VTXE+ and I called them, They said I could return it or they would refund $20 and I keep it---HHMM what a hard decision a Brand new 266a Motherboard for $19 shipped.

A couple weeks ago I bought all the refurb crucial 256mb DDR memory and 1 of them was missing the crucial sticker and I called them and said without the sticker there is no lifetime warranty-I was told they would refund $40 or I could return it--HHMM another hard decision a stick of 256mb ddr crucial for $19 shipped.

Last week I got my very first refurb item that i'm unhappy with and going to rma to newegg. A lite on 12x burner ($43 shipped)( I bought 10 of them) that doesn't open the best ,,but its hard to say that it didn't happen in shipping.

OK so 1 item that isn't perfect out of my 100+ refurb orders--I think thats pretty good.

If there is 1 person out there who buys more refurb from newegg than me and is having a problem I would like to hear from you.

Newegg has been one of the best etailers in my book they stand behind the products they sell. I had a video card die. It was an oem GTS-v card. I got it in october. they are RMAing it and giving me no problems. They are simply a class act. I would not get this from any B&M retailer. after 30 days I would be forced to deal with the manufacturer.

I order over 30 items from newegg, stuff like cpus/ motherboards/videocard, fans , etc,, ALL the new stuff works great, I have no problems with them, but All 3 of the refurbish items that I got from them was either DOA or keeps on crashing,,(all motherboards)..

I guess I'm no good at picking what to get from their refurbish section as all the stuff I got was no good.

Like I say before they get A++++ for new stuff and C- D- F- - for refurbish stuff,, (it was 3 out of 3 for me, all of them are no good)..
I still have to call them up to credit me fully for my returned motherboard,, they only credit me back the cost of the motherboard and not the tax and shipping..(Faxed in my shippig slip) , it came DOA.. ,(one of the cornners look like it was bended with pliers or something.. the piece is just hanging there when I got it.)..

I'm a little leary about Newegg's refurbs too. I recently purchased a mobo and it had a bad mouse port. However, unlike HappyNic here, I got a FULL refund including shipping (ther wasn't any tax for me) when I returned it.

Part of the problem is you don't always know whether it is the refurbished part that is causing your problem. In my case it was easy, the mouse wouldn't work. But with more subtle problems it may take a bit of troubleshooting to determine the problem. Remember that all the while the "30 day" return clock is ticking.

I have ordered several refurb items from NewEgg without a problem in the past. But most recently I ordered a MinMaw case and a MSI GF3 TI200 and both are on there way back to NewEgg. The case was shipped to me in a box that already had RMA numbers on it and had only one small piece of styrofoam in the bottom of the box. The case arrived with the front panel broken into several pieces. It was obvious that the damage occured prior to shipment to me since some of the larger pieces were inside the case and couldn't have gotten there without the side panel coming off in shipment! And the fact that it already had a previous RMA number on the box. The video card would only work for about 5 minutes after a fresh install of drivers(any Nvidia drivers) and would crash to an unreadable screen. I suspect I recieved another RMA'd item after a bad bios flash(wouldn't take a flash now) or getting cooked from overclocking to far. NewEgg has been easy to work with on the returns but it's still an big hassle and time consuming to deal with. I will likely stay away from refurbs in the future with this experience. But Newegg is still my number one place for buying components. They are a class act.
