i'm looking at this right now. I have been searching for a laptop under $800 that can run sc2 on high graphics pretty easily. It seems the gtx 260m is a good card for that in my price range.

Any comments on the laptop itself?

Also, i've never purchased recertified before. Is it almost as good as new? Should I grab an extended warranty? thanks.

yes always get the warranty.

but why not go direct? i bet if you pm i could find you who is selling those.

They had a business class mobile workstation 1920x1200 with a quadro FX 3700M (MXM 3.0 so you can upgrade it) for $650 recently. it was a few units last week. Came with 3 year warranty on-site next business day hp. I was tempted to buy one since the only thing that sucked was the 5400rpm drive. beautiful dreamcolor display.

hp business outlet has consumer stuff now they throw in free ship and offer 3year warranty uplifts many times. dell outlet too.

I have to say i'd never buy outside lenovo,hp,dell, pansonic(toughbook) - regardless of reason. i'd find a way to make it into the top tier.

It's bad enough getting through consumer support but good effin luck with 3rd country brands.

It's like buying a car with a 100k/lifetime warranty - is that great if you spend 2-3 days in the shop every other month - and have to deal with the logistics of that?

time is $$ my friend even when its tight there are some things you can do that are very smart.
