NewEgg Rant ** UPDATE!**

(Everyone else does it...)

I ordered a hdd from New Egg. It got to Rocklin, CA on the 23rd. It's scheduled for delivery on the 28th. I could literally crawl on my belly between here and Rocklin in 5 days. Maybe less!
In fact, I have to drive through Rocklin to get to my daughter's place to install the item once I get it.

I will never order from them again!
Yes I will.
/cry baby attack

UPDATE

I received a PM from NewEgg. They asked about my order number to confirm what I had wrote. Once they confirmed it, they called UPS to see what was going on. They got response from UPS that really clarified nothing but at least NewEgg cares/tries.

 NewEgg

I was just ranting because the package got to the UPS warehouse in Rocklin on the 23rd and isn't scheduled for delivery till the 28th. That means it will just sit in their warehouse for 5 days.
Not at all NewEggs fault. Just a nuance of UPS.

ordered a new car, factory is about 250 miles from where I live, took them three weeks to move it the first time, to another holding yard across town (40 miles away), took a week for them to get it from there to the dealer. 30 days for what is about a 5 hour drive.

Who knows, it might come early. Its happened to me before.
For what its worth, I ordered a video card from Tiger Direct on noon one day, it was at my door by 3PM the next day (very happy surprise) using their free shipping. Guess I have a warehouse nearby

I have two orders from Amazon pending "Super Saver Shipping". Estimated delivery for each is three weeks from the order date. Neither has shipped and it has been over week on both.

What did you use, Egg Saver?
Honestly, I am not sure. Whatever the default shipping is. Once an item is in my cart, I just start clicking next. Unless I need it in a hurry then I may pay for expedited shipping. But if I need it fast, I'd just run over to Frys.
Just seems odd that it will sit for 5 days in a warehouse lees than 10 miles from where I live.
Not that I am ranting.

Most of the time when I order stuff from NewEgg with free shipping, it starts 3000 miles away and says estimated delivery the next week, but then I somehow get the package the next day anyways. Free overnight-A.M. delivery FTW.

Almost all the stuff I ordered recently was shipped almost overnight after UPS picked it up (NJ -> LI). Even my package coming from CA arrived a day early with the 3-day UPS shipping.

I love their NJ warehouse.

CA and TN are fine, but nothing beats that 1 day ship time for computer parts.

I wish I could just pick up stuff from the warehouse myself. It's not that far from me.

Here hey? More often than not on here, people will say something in reference to "here" or where they live but not say where that is or have it in their profile.

In your case I think you're in CA somewhere so 5 days for anywhere in CA is ridiculous. UPS and Fedex dates are usually very close too. Weird. Normally I can something from CA to NY in 5-6 days with regular ground.

It could show up tomorrow. I ordered parts for my current computer from Newegg and they were on my porch two or three days later, a day or two before the estimated delivery.

What I love about MonoPrice, besides their great prices, is that their shipping is awesome, at least for me. Because of the proximity of my place to them, I get almost all my items the next day (if I order before noon).

I have joked that, when I am on the MonoPrice website placing an order, I almost feel like they are standing at my door waiting for me to complete my order so they can ring to doorbell and deliver the items.

will you update this thread when the hard drive shows up wrapped only in its anti static bag, loose in a box large enough for several bulk beefs to fit in?

The only thing I HATE about Newegg is that they will not cross ship with you if you do an RMA. Pissed me off once already with regards to a DOA monitor I ordered.

I bitched about the delay on overclock.net (assholes.net) and some Newegg rep gave me $10 gift card. Yeah, that definitely covered for the month I had no monitor.

Sir, yes sir.
I just hope the beef is rib eye.

Monoprice's surprised me with the fastest shipping ever. I live in san diego. I ordered at about 6-8pm for regular shipping, and saw it on my doorstep at 9am. I thought at the time that someone who worked at monoprice just dropped it off?

I've got RAM that's been shipped out, 3 day UPS -- shipped Wednesday. It should be here tomorrow, as the status initially said, right?

That changed to 28th, Monday.

So my build is on hold until then.

Sucks... but what can I do really. Sometimes their shipments have surprised me by a day.
