So, what does it mean when the newegg site says 'This item has been deactivated' ?

It had been previously out of stock.

It just mean that we've decided to remove the online description. This could be for various reasons, but, because it was previously out of stock, it's probably:

1) taking longer to replenish inventory
2) discountinued by the manufacturer
