So my brother just ordered all his parts for his computer and built it. It wasn't working so I checked each piece against mine and found that the MOBO was defective.
he bought it for $130 - $30 Rebate = $100
Now, he just shipped it back to them for $15, and loses the rebate since the rebate no longer exists and he will not have the same UPC code on the box to send in, losing another $30 in the process.
So what he bought before for $110 after shipping now is costing him about $155. Newegg told him nothing they can do about the rebate thing so basically he is screwed. Does this sound about right? I thought Newegg had a better return policy in place for all of this.
EDIT: Heh, so he just contacted them again, and this time they credited him $25, so all and all, not too bad.
