newegg providing "instant rebates" on Asus boards?

I was about to pick up an Asus P4C800-E board from newegg and noticed that they are now providing an instant $5 rebate. I poked around and all the Asus 865/875 boards have an instant rebate. Now, while I don't mind the extra savings, I'm suspcious. Is there a new rev or series of these boards coming out soon (or a problem with the current revs)? Are they providing the rebates to clear out existing inventory?

I know I'm being paranoid. I need sleep.

They've also got that new "extended warranty" thing going. My guess is they're trying some advanced marketing techniques :D

HMM.....Very Interesting. I was about to buy a p4p800 deluxe but I am curious now. I would guess that either a new revision is coming out that will help with memory compatibility OR it might be possible that newegg has gotten a bunch of those boards back as RMA's.

It makes you wonder if ASUS is really following their own guidelines as to 865PE/875 chip selection.
