Sorry, I'm new and not sure whether this should go in this section but it was the best I could find.

Anyway, the question is about Newegg Preferred Accounts. Me, or at least my dad has applied for it, and in the end it said that it could not be processed at this time but that there should be a message mailed to us for further information on it. Did the process fail or is this all normal and all we have to do is wait until the preferred account is accepted?

The reason for the account is for the No Payments for up to 12 Months deal.

Not necessarily.

All it means (at least with typical credit applications) is that he could not be instantly approved using their automated system.

A final decision will be made and he'll be notified on whether or not he was approved.

Hmm, thanks a lot.

That's what I thought it was but I wasn't sure about it.

Does anyone here know how long the process may take on average? Or at least from their experience if they have applied for such an account?

It took mine 3 years to be approved........good luck...

Why you would even want it is beyond me. The rate will go up to 24%+ after the promotional period, and it's not 12 months, it's 11. If you wait until the actual 12th billing period to pay off the statement balance, they will hit you with back interest for all 11 months previous.

Stay debt free and use your debit card.

Well obviously I'm not going to wait until the interest hits. The reason we want to use the deal is because we don't have the money now, but we can get it later and I can help pay it off when I'm able to get a job in the summer.

if you don't have the money, you don't need it. apparently newegg agrees with me, based on your credit rating

Perhaps it's Newegg's way of saying you're spending too much of your dad's money?? ;)

Did you call Newegg and ask if they can look into it? What did they say to you? And then what did you say to them? And then what did they say to you after what you said to them after you got the response after you asked them what the deal was?

If you can't help and have nothing good to say, don't try. And if you don't know, don't assume.

No, this is basically our first purchase. I don't touch my dad's money, only he decides how to use it.

The last PC we bought was from BestBuy in 2002, it was in credit, and we payed off all 2,400 dollars. This PC is just over 1,600 and he is more than capable of paying for this too especially with no interest, no need for your BS comments. I bolded out the problem myself in the OP, is it that hard to address or not at all if you don't have anything to contribute?

There was money and I gave him 600 dollars to help for the PC in September but unfortunately my grandmother needed critical surgery and he had to fly out of the country to visit her in case anything happened or was needed, losing thousands of dollars. Fortunately, he's back now and everything went fine.

We would buy the PC part by part, but we'd rather just order the whole thing and pay it off over time which is basically the same, but we'll just have the PC earlier. However if so many of you are busy being assholes about it and not addressing the question seriously then I'll wait till Live Chat is available tomorrow from Newegg.
