Haven't purchased anything from the Egg in a couple years and I was wondering when did they stop using packing peanuts? The brownpaper they use now is a joke.

Thanks.

My last few items also came with papers, buy I don't care, there was no damage or potential for damage. the main boxes have their own padding if the item is fragile. Besides, its more environment friendly, those peanuts are hazardous... I give your rant 2/10

somethings come with peanuts most with the paper, i've probably gotten several hundred packages from newegg over the years and never had a damaged item.

Seems to me that the paper would suspend the item in the middle of the box better than peanuts, therefore protecting it from every side. With peanuts the item could end up against one side of the box as the peanuts sift around it.

Depends where it was shipped from. I can have two boxes from one order ship from two locations with completely different packaging.

Really???? "more enviromentally friendly"? I guess you have never heard of corn starch packing peanuts, they disolve when wet.

As for padding from the manufactures I guess you don't buy too many bare harddrives.

Never saw Egg using those peanuts

those are pretty well packed inside a box with well fitted holders or bubble wraps, bough 4 last year and all 4 were that way, if fact there was no need for putting then into another box, if i get a chance I will take some pics and post here..
