Of course, they aren't obligated as I'm pretty sure it's stated in their terms that they don't offer price protection - but it can't hurt to ask nicely... But at least it's well worth the price you paid. Just think, you could have bought a star name from the International Star Registry - what a rube trap! :frown:

With Newegg on this one it is like pulling the handle on a slot machine to see what price will pop up each day...

Using "Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy" this printer should satisfy just about everyone for digital photos...

The 2000 or 4000 may be a bit better for photos as the 3000 has only the pigmented black which can make photos look a bit darker and grainier. The 2000 has dye-based black only which is better for photos, but worse for text (and it lacks the duplex printing feature) - and the 4000 has both dye and pigment black (5 ink tanks). But with this sale you will be paying about twice as much for the 4000. I would have bought the 4000 if the 3000 wasn't such a good deal when I was ready to buy. I am not dissatisfied, but then I don't print a lot of glossy photos and I'm not hypercritical - as long as there are no streaks or bands and the colors look reasonably natural, I'm happy.

$133. is the current best bottom line (pricegrabber) price on the 4000 from a place called SecureMart (always leery of a company that used a name designed to make you feel warm and fuzzy). And if you need a digital camera, you can get a Visa gift card up to $100. if you buy both a printer and a Canon camera (doesn't have to be from the same store).
. You could always take a chance and wait 'til after Christmas and see if anyone has to dump excess inventory...

Is it just me or are the colors on this thing GOD DAMNED awful? The blacks look completely washed out without any definition and depth. The colors are totally out of gamut looking. I'm using the ink that came with the printer on photo matte paperand find that my old Epson printed much more natural looking colors than this thing even without adjustments. Does anyone here have a clue to how to get this thing looking OK? I'm using the highest print settings possible and colors still look wacked out.

Months ago when there was a sale on Canon paper there were a few comments about lousy results on other Canon printers when the paper wasn't Canon brand.
Only other things I can think of are printhead alignment, type of paper setting, ICM? or something color profile being way off...
Use the included Easy-PhotoPrint to print with?

Go to the Kodak papers site and check out their recommended settings for the i560 printer as that is basically the same. Just use their recommendations for their comparable paper as a starting point. I have found that I have to use the PLAIN paper setting that Kodak recommends for most matte papers that I've tried - but I haven't tried matte photo paper, just both sides coated presentation paper. Also be sure you have the latest drivers - they improved the output of mine noticeably and added a couple of new features. Remove the old drivers and disconnect the printer and reboot before installing the new drivers. My printouts are far from washed-out looking when I use the Kodak recommended settings as a starting point.
