Need to be aware, what shipping courier they might choose

Newegg in known for great shipping, items delivery. All I know, they've used either UPS or USPS.
Everything I've ordered befor 2 p.m. - I would receive next business day. Why I kept ordering - for their great prices and great shipping. I've bought all my home theater(LG TV, Yamaha AV, Polk Speakers) off newegg - shipping was great as were prices.

It stopped, last friday. I've ordered a Samsung flip cell phone. Did check tracking:

12/2/2011 5:32 PM , , US Shipment Data Received
12/4/2011 4:00 PM Edison, NJ, Edison, NJ, US Arrived at Terminal
12/4/2011 11:32 PM Elkridge, MD, Elkridge, MD, US Arrived at Delivery Terminal
12/5/2011 8:33 AM Elkridge, MD, Elkridge, MD, US Departed from Terminal
12/5/2011 4:47 PM Rutherford, NJ, Rutherford, NJ, US Arrived at Delivery Terminal

I did not know, newegg could choose worst possible - DHL courier service. Don't they know about DHL or have newegg shipping exec taken bribes for sake of newegg to use DHL?

I do work for Co. that we do ship everyday about 2 pallets of packages via Fedex or UPS, no problems, if any. Our shipping mngr. dropped DHL because of problems. We do use DHL ONLY if customer gives their DHL account for pickup.
Newegg doesn't state their shipping choice: On my lates order, it was just Egg Saver (4-7 Days), which it usually was UPS Ground, and from NJ to NY - one business day. Other shipping options were while placing order(Free Shipping): UPS 3 DAYS, and all items will come to me in one day.

From now on, If I choose to buy anything from newegg, I'll go to "Live Chat" before I hit "Place Order" - who will ship item I choose to buy?. Unless, Newegg will will do it in their online ordering system.

So far, newegg had best shipping system - services untill order I've placed order last friday...

As quoted from the NewEgg site.

"Egg Saver (4-7 Business Days) shipments are picked up from our warehouse by DHL Global Mail or UPS Mail Innovations, who transfer the shipment to USPS for final delivery to your ship-to address. In some circumstances, an alternate UPS shipping service may be used, but this will not affect your shipping charge or time-in-transit."

My own .02...

EggSaver shipping is DHL or UPS, who do part of the legwork, then hand it off to the USPS. Tracking stops updating once its delivered to the USPS. The USPS then takes its sweet ass time, until the 7th day in my experience, to deliver the package.

EggSaver hasn't been UPS ground for a long long time(since UPS come up with UPS Mail Innovations).

so although you still got your package in 3 days, you are pissed off it took a more scenic route?

I don't really like attitude: "it's ok, when it happens to someone else. And it isn't ok when it happens to me"

I had several items shipped "EggSaver", all came next day, newegg all items I've ordered, ships from New Jersey. If ordered before 2-3pm, package ALWAYS(ALWAYS !!!) came to my address next day, how it supposed to be via UPS. What UPS does without any logic - their Next Day shipping. Ship anything to the address, let's say, across the street, package goes first to Lexington, KY and next day morning it would be delivered to the addres, even it's across the street from "shipping from to:" address.
At work, we do have a UPS Map - how long it takes to be shipped by UPS ground.
In 13 years working for co. and participating in shipping, I don't ever remember a case, when UPS have shipped anything to some other state as on the address label. But we had problems with DHL - that's why our shipping mngr. dropped services of DHL. We don't use DHL anymore. And I didn't hear any problems about Fedex - which we do use alot.
Don't have an idea, why newegg, which had very good, exellent/perfect reputation for shipping items, could choose such lousy - DHL. I was suggesting newegg to my friend, people I know - about their prices and how good shipping is. Well, not anymore...Even if I will want to order from newegg, before hitting "submit order" buton, I'll go to their "live chat" to ask, how item I want to order will be shipped. If I would hear an answer: "UPS", I would continue, if answer would be: "we don't know, DHL, USPS" - i'm done - forget about order.

USPS? they're closing many branches - for good. Who needs people, who don't want to work but like to get paid.
Economy doing pretty good, no jobless people...why should I work - that's USPS, DHL logic. Maybe some from newegg want to join them?

I can't to refer newegg anymore to my friends or people I know - about their prices and exellent shipping.
What would happen, if someone wants to order something from newegg a couple days before christmas and expects delivered next day - experience I had with newegg before and I do suggest to people I know?

Should neweg deceide to use DHL or USPS, and i'm in trouble in my friends eyes: " who did you suggested to us"

I always assume it's going to take forever if I don't pay extra for some kind of guaranteed shipping. The "well it was always that way in the past" argument is stupid. It's always said 5-7 days for the minimum level of shipping, and in my experience it's always taken 7 days. That was even before they started using DHL since the nearest newegg warehouse is like 800 miles away from where I live.

This is why I love Amazon prime so much.

Then they should pay for 1 or 2 day shipping and not 5-7 day EggSaver shipping. Yes EggSaver can reach you faster sometimes, but obviously as you have learned it doesnt get there as fast all the time. In my experience both UPS mail innovations and DHL take about the same amount of time to get to me(typically 6 days, sometimes 7, do to the shitty USPS doing the final delivery). There was one time UPS handed a package off to the USPS in my city and it just sat another 5 days before it was delivered.

If you want fast shipping all the time sign up for Amazon Prime. But dont get bent out of shape when you order on Saturday and don't get the item on Monday because that is 50/50 in my experience.

God I'm so tired of these threads.

Do you know why they've had to switch couriers? Rising costs of shipping, products, and overhead. They have to cut costs somewhere so they can maintain their business model of having well priced items with low cost or no cost shipping. If you're concerned about the shipping then fucking pay for something different. Don't come into a public forum and bitch about something you knew perfectly well might happen, especially if your overall experience ended up going perfectly fine.

For fucks sake, it's the real world and not some fantasy land where everything gets there the next day for free shipping and is delivered by angels.

So you're angry because you didn't read that they may use DHL or just assumed that they wouldn't because of your "personal experiences" with DHL?

Honestly I have no idea how anyone could ever find fault with newegg on this matter. If you think they're going downhill because of their changes over the years, well that's an opinion that can be derived through certain observations but your particular problem with them is the worst I've probably heard on these forums thus far.

Amazon Prime is the gift that keeps on giving!
I had it for 1 year, awesome. I suggested my friend give it try, he loved it and the last 2 years he added me to his account. 1-2 day turn around is the win.

Kindle users get a library checkout and access to streaming movies and tv. It's a win.
