pretty pricey on the CPUz though. and the good mobos. UD6 = $250 !?

Hopefully they come down. Was that a newegg error where it said that EVGA board supported triple channel?

yea what they meant was 3 dimms per channel lol. it supports triple channel memory kits in that sense. though, with the boards only listed as supporting up to 16GB, i dont see how even that would work, since 6x4GB DIMMs would be 24GB.

I can't see what the price benefit is for 1156. The 750 ($210) is more expensive than you can get the 920 for (can be bought for $200 on special offer) and the LGA1166 UD5 is $60 cheaper than the LGA1366 version. So adding in the RAM, you are saving what; $100? Big deal.

Edit: Even going to the lower end of the scale where the LGA1156 MBs are $140. You can get X58 MBs for $170 - $180, so again its not a great saving.

microcenter has the 750 listed for $180 and the 860 for $230, and boards should be cheaper there as well.

Mwave has them listed on there site, their showing coming soon but usually when that appears it only takes a mere 1-2 days before they start showing up.

the p55 listings are back up! easiest way to find everything is to just search p55, they havent put in a s1156 option under CPUs or motherboards yet

ed: WTF they took them down again. CPUs are still up though

They're up this morning in newegg email promos. They even have a sargas 2.7 sempron with ecs motherboard for $69.99 after rebate; about the same deal as Fry's for the old sempron. Makes more sense than spending $550 on a p55 board and cpu combo.

You will once the supply is there. Right now it's just NewEgg ripping people off to be first with new tech in their rigs. Give it a month or so and then you'll start to see the price benefit. Or just read the reviews, which tell you what the pricing will be once the price gouging is past.
