I think it's very hit and miss still even with new firmware. I have an OCZ Agility 3 240gb with the newest firmware (2.15) that I got back in December 2011 with not a single problem, but people are still giving poor reviews citing BSODs and the usual Sandforce 2811 problems.

No. Totally different price class.

But why don't you order the Samsung from Newegg: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2234020. Hot deal on it right now...I assume it's less than what you paid, but maybe tax is an issue.

Yep... My office and house is only 5 minutes away from NewEgg HQ and Warehouses (They have 3 all 5-10 minutes from where I work).

AMAZON pricematched it last week for $139.99... AMAZON sold out QUICK but I was still able to get the order through with a message stating it would be back ordered and would not ship till April 20th... I logged in AMAZON to cancel (was about to get this OCZ deal), but I got message just now saying they got new inventory and I would receive it next week - but I double checked the tracking number and I found out it is comming tomorrow...After reading your comment I'm not going to cancel or refuse shipment anymore... Gotta Love AMAZON Prime!!

I also used a AMAZON $10 gift code so I got the SSD for $129.99 shipped with no tax! :p

Too many good deals to pass up these past two weeks...perfect timing too..

Thanks for your comment/explaination!

Do they still have the BSOD issue, or did they finally squash it with firmware?

Those people experiencing the BSOD and other issues should read this:

Doing things they are not suppose to may explain why the SSDs die quickly or get the BSOD...

Yeah I was going to edit my post to say that there are the less tech savvy people expecting to just plug and play driving the reviews down, and people suffering from a bad experience are more likely to post a review so good experiences sometimes go unheard since it's working as intended.

I might pick one up as a minor upgrade and installing the Agility 3 and the free Petrol in some old systems.

Truly a good deal though!

Is there a website kinda dedicated to SSD tech and such. Seems like something groundbreaking must be coming through the pipeline retailers just seem to be dropping and dropping and dropping prices on current SSDs.

Out of all tech sites I always fall back on AnandTech previews/reviews before making judgement for any tech product... plus the community here is the best experience I've had due to the moderators and memebers...

For SSD news this is the forum:

And this a thread someone started not too long ago for discussion of new SSDs:

$279 for 304 gb is pretty good for those 2 drives as a combo. If it was a true single 304 gb ssd then it would be even more interesting, just because I've never seen any drive anywhere larger than 256gb that was available for less than $1/gb. However, $.92/gb for a two ssd combo with somewhat unreliable quality wouldn't be as interesting to me a 256 gb worth of 2 samsung 830's for $260 ($1.02/gb). You could raid 0 those 2 samsungs and have lightning fast, extremely reliable ssd goodness.
