Out of trust and respect for the greater community, I will now place my home on the market for 60% of its current market value. Thank you.

Newegg is easily one of the best online retailers there is. It's called business, if you don't want to pay the price then STFU and wait.

The Newegg whining has gotten ridiculous around here.

I concur. They're a great company & offer some of the best service / value / policies of any of the online companies we buy from.

Good service - yes
Good policies - usually, but not always. (ie their dead pixel LCD policy is terrible)
Good value - not anymore. most of the time their price can be beat. This wasn't the case a couple years ago. (Froogle is your friend!!)

I can't believe all the Newegg fanboys that will blindly pay some of Newegg's inflated prices without even shopping around.

I'm a fanboy but only of my wallet.

I understand your point but the thing is, your house wont sell @ that price but the e6600 will!
😛

The pricing is rediculous, though. I cant believe all the apologists here. We're not saying they should be jailed but god damn it, they are charging a lot for something we want.

Frys, outpost.com will be selling the 6600 for 357, pre-order ships on the 14th according to their site.

I just called outpost.com to see if the site was right.

They say that info is incorrect and that the next shipment is going to be the 18th at the earliest. She said the website was incorrect.

YAY...

Price was incorrect or just the delivery date?

I just don't get people bitching about those who're complaining about the price. Being dissatisfied with a companies' opportunism in a case like this and taking your money elsewhere, alone, or in groups is part of the free market also. If there's anything alien here, its those who are complaining about that.

Agreed. However, Zipzoomfly has good prices on their Core 2 Duos, except for the E6600, just to let you know. Unfortunatly, only the E6300 is in stock over there as of now.🙁

Just in case you were wondering about where I got the Zipzoomfly having good prices.

However, the prices should go down in about a month or 2 from now if history repeats itself. Remember the Athlon 64 X2s last year when newegg first got them and how they were overpriced, and by October-November, the prices were better? It should go that same way with the Core 2 Duos.

No its not ridiculous either. Many folks like myself and others here supported newegg greatly when they first started out and helped to propel them to the success they enjoy now. But Newegg has become a very savy ripoff type company now doing all kinds things like price gouging and such. So the same people who have supported them when they were respectable, have the right to criticize them now. So now you two can shut the bleep up.

The prices are high, much higher than expected by many.

There is always a markup over MSRP by vendors (no one argues that they need to be profitable to remain solvent). In this case it's the amount of markup that is unusually high. Supply and demand determines pricing but a super inflated markup may be construed as gouging.

Why is complaining about such gouging considered whining? It's a fact, and it is happening.

Those who say STFU to other members in a moderated forum should be admonished.

A vendors previous record of service doesn't give them immunity from being wrong for gouging.

Newegg has a lot of SHILL. Low price my ass

Look at this crap on the review:

" I love Newegg. Such great prices!

Pros: A great cpu and at such a low price! Way to go Newegg!

Cons: Only 2mb cache."

- The Staff at ZipZoomFly

Their website still says out of stock, so maybe the update is still pending...or they sold out in 6 minutes???

Pity they jacked the price up to $400, as I would have totally bought one for the $340 they were quoting earlier today.

Just so all you FANBOYS on both sides know...

The Conroe is jumping in price EVERYWHERE, not only at newegg.

However, Newegg may have started this. ZZF, Monarch went up too.

So dont blame a company blame the market.

lol that sounds like that old getto saying... "Dont hate the player, hate the Game!"

So what, you want a cookie?

I've ordered (literally) THOUSANDS of dollars in parts from NewEgg. Never had a single complaint over the last several years. Top-notch inventory, shipping, and RMA department.
Not always the lowest price, but their service makes up for it.

If you don't like their prices, go somewhere else. Now you can STFU and quit whining.

I never received an auto-notify from them. But $460 (before tax and shipping) is really steep. I have one on pre-order (because that's what it really is) for $370 from TigerDirect.

Wait for it... Wait for it... OOS... Again

I was on the phone with the Newegg CS Rep... Trying to figure out how to send back the E6400 painlessly when the E6600 went back out of stock... Ahhh... o well, maybe it is a sign that the E6400 will meet my needs and save me $125.

Fry's is also selling the E6600 OEM for $319 shipped, you can't beat that, especially when you will be using an aftermarket cooler anyway. http://shop4.outpost.com/search?search_...ring=e6600&cat=0&submit.x=0&submit.y=0 The only catch is they keep selling out of them overnight every time they get a shipment, so you must either preoder or be pretty quick once they come back in stock.

If you can't wait for the $319 E6600's to get back in stock, then ClubtIT is selling the retail E6600 for $400 NOW http://www.clubit.com/search.cfm?keywor...re2duo%20processors&cat=CPU/Processors

Frankly considering just how much demand these things are churning, it might be weeks before supply catches up...
