newegg has free shipping on practically all AMD Athlon processors and ome AMD duron processors too! This is like saving $7-$10 from the usual fedex shipping cost these processors!

Not on the T-Bird 1.33ghz. 76 shipped for that at Newegg, 79.95 at TCWO. You get a 30-day warranty on the cpu at Newegg versus 15-day warranty at TCWO unless you buy one of their overpriced fans (which gives you a 1-year warranty). I just paid $80 for the 1.33 TBird at TCWO along with their cheapest fan (needed a cheap one to use on the Duron that I replaced with this CPU - Had a Golden Gate 30 HSF on it that I'm using on the TBird now) for $9 plus $6.95 shipping about two weeks ago for a total of $95.95. I coulda bought a Thermaltake Volcano 6 CU+ instead of the generic coolermaster I got from TCWO and saved $2 in the end had I waited till now and bought it at Newegg! Not that I'm complaining 🙂

Newegg's shipping charges make no sense at the best of times - they just use them to mess with the prices.

Sure if you say so. I'll use an OEM P4 CPU for an example. Using their website, if you are in California, they charge you 6.95 for Fedex Express Saver shipping to ship this 1lb box. If you go to Fedex website and check the rate from area code 91746 (Newegg) to 94704 (me), it is $7.93. If you are print out a shipping label online for Fedex shipping, that's 10% off $7.93 making $7.14. You're also forgetting that Newegg also has to pay for the white-box that they pack the CPU in. If you live in California, most of the time Express Saver packages come in two-days, at the three-day price.

So I don't see your logic. Why doesn't Newegg's shipping charges make sense? Do the math.
