It definitely happens all the time. It's one of various consumer-error related reasons that I don't trust internet reviews of stuff that can be dickfingered.

Do people sometimes get parts that were damaged at the factory, or returned parts sent as new, ect? Yeah, surely. And the people who fuck stuff up and then blame the seller make things that much worse for those much-more-rare legit cases.

The fact that the people in these linked posts are so incredulous makes it all the more damning. When I find myself in such a situation, my reaction is generally 'oh no, no one is going to believe that I wasn't the one who fucked this up.' OTOH, the people who post these threads are more 'LOOK AT THIS PART I GOT. I'M SO MAD. GGRRRRR. AND LOOK, I TOOK A PICTURE, WHICH TOTALLY PROVES THAT I RECIEVED THE PART THIS WAY, AND TOTALLY COULD NOT AT ALL MEAN THAT I FUCKED THE PART UP AND THEN TOOK A PICTURE OF IT BECAUSE THAT'S UNPOSSIBLE!'

Ugh.

Pretty alarming to hear all those people allegedly get screwed during the rma process for their mobos.
 
Newegg's service has been going down the shitter for quite some time now. Not everyone has a shitty experience but you can really get a feel for a company by how they handle issues like this. I've never had to return anything to newegg before but I had a bad experience with their customer service few months back regarding an order and I've written them off since.
They could really learn something about customer service from Amazon.

Yep, this is why I would not buy anything used off the FS/FT forum ever again. By anything I obviously mean used PC parts.

As for Newegg, I haven't had any problems with them but their prices have gotten pretty ridiculous over the last several years.
 
i dont know what the op's complaint was but newegg is well know for being shady, selling refurbs as new, selling supposedly sealed ipad boxes with fake brick ipads etc.. they even sold fake intel chips a few years ago. atot bros gotta right ta know what they dealin' wif

I've been dealing with them for almost ten years, and I've never had a bad experience. I just bought a refurbed Asus desktop for another linux machine, and a Samsung SSD within the last week. Great pricing and service on both items. I've bought cpus, motherboards, cases, gpus, heat sinks, psus, ram, televisions, routers, keyboards, mice, the whole nine yards. I imagine most atot "bros" have similarly significant experience with Newegg, so they can draw their own conclusions. Good company. Idiot OP. That's about it.
