Newegg + Fed Ex = happy marriage

Regs

Lifer
Ordered my 6800 GT on Friday with Fed Ex Express saver. Damn thing went from LA, Calf. to NJ, Newark in one day. How can you go wrong with Newegg? My package will be here on Monday a day ahead of time.

I always read reviews on Newegg's site saying stuff like this, but evertime I've ordered with Express saver, it's taken at least 4 days to get to me (I live in Houston, TX). That's just not fair 🙁

i live in the woodlands tx and it does seem to take forever to get here. the only exception was that i got my processor a couple days early, but it was shipped from new jersey (i think) where all of my other orders have come from california

I'm right by Houston too and every order I've placed with them also took 4-5 days (whatever the last day on the "Expected Delivery" date is)...not that its horrible considering usually its free shipping, but I always here people say they got there stuff in like 2 days.

Regs did you track it from CA? They have a warehouse in Newark so i have a feeling they sent it straight from the NJ operation.

Kristopher

it also has a lot to do with your location and how far the nearest fed-ex location is. if your not in a very populated area with little amounts of deliveries don't expect the package right away. simple economics.

I live in VT and it ussually takes them 2-4 days from cali. Kinda weird it can vary alsmost two days but it is all the way across the country lol. From NJ its always 2 days for me.

Edit: Regs which brand did u get XFX or the Chaintech? Though both have crazy prices of MSRP the XFX is cheaper by $90 only $459 plus 6 for shipping  I can't belive they charge 550 for a GT that is CRAZY! But I guess if you've got the money and want Newegg's great service too then the price isn't that bad. I hopfully will be getting my $301 PNY card from COMP USA soon since they should ship out on Monday.

I ordered a modem from them this past Tuesday. I received it 24 hours to the minute from when they entered the order. Later on Wednesday they send me an email saying that it shipped. The tracking number showed that I had signed for it.

Not too bad.

It says it came from CA. It made a pit stop in Illonois. Even though Im aware that they sent me items from the warehouse in NJ before, they seem to rotate locations depending on the item I ordered.

I got the eVGA. 🙂 They were selling it for MSRP 400 dollars. My guess is that eVGA pumped out a lot of stock .Buyers of the eVGA said it overclocks to Ultra speeds without a hitch. My luck they had to put a warehouse in NJ. Paying Tax on a expensive item is always unpleasent. Thankfully NJ only charges 6%.

3 days is still good for what you pay for! That's what im paying for. And free 3 day shipping from newegg? How can you complain!

i ordered my computer parts on tuesday night at 10pm est (so basically the order was processed wednesday), it was on my doorstep by friday afternoon via express saver. it's a beautiful thing.

FedEx is usually good, but they can be hit and miss at times. For example, they had a package that shipping out of California Wednesday, in the local distribution hub thursday morning, but didn't try to deliver it until the 3rd business day(Tuesday, Monday was a holiday); and they even managed to screw that up(delivered during the lunch hour when the mail office was closed).

one of my packages from newegg hit the hub near my house on friday morning. But they wont deliever the item until monday, if im lucky. Otherwise they might wait until the official date, which is Tuesday.

I hate when that happens.

FedEx has got packages from CA to MN in one day. Even thought it takes another two or three days for normal delivery I just hop in my car and drive 15min to the FedEx station. I'm happy. 😀

Newegg's shipping has been awesome for me. I use the Free ship or Saver when it's not free, never a more expensive option.

I've ordered parts on a Monday and had them arrive that Wednesday. From California to Georgia!

USPS Priority service does not guarantee a delivery time, instead they use an average figure.

Yeah, and that's 2-3 days. I've never had problems with USPS Priority, even when shipping to Alaska.

Fedex on the other hand... they're usually on time but some packages look like they went through a meat grinder.

I've gotten stuff from Newegg overnight when I've ordered it early enough in the day. 😀

I  FedEx SuperSaver

I live pretty close to the CA newegg facility so I can get things in one day if I order early enough as well, Fed Ex does a good job there. However when selling thigns I use USPS priority and like to request it when buying things from forum members. USPS is cheap and 2 -3 days means 2 - 3 days, they are fast. Fed Ex ground is probably the same price, not really sure but that's a 5-7 day wait which is ridiculous.
