NewEgg e-mailed my SSD tracking number today

The only problem is that it was ordered a week ago Friday. I already received and installed it last Wednesday.

WTF happened to NewEgg? They used to have their shit together.

I ordered something a few days ago, and just got the tracking number today. The thing is, the tracking shows all the updates for the past few days so I have to wonder why they didn't send it to me sooner.

Don't get me wrong, newegg is still great for certain things, it just isn't what it used to be.

Newegg used to have incredibly cheap shipping and not matter what even if you chose 5-7business days you would get it next day.

They've done that to me twice, without billing me for the second shipment. I let them know about it via email but they never replied.

I'm having a similar experience with them. Ordered a MicroSD card from them with the free egg saver shipping. It was shipped on the 10th from Memphis, TN. I live in Little Rock, Ar., 2 1/2 hours driving time from Memphis. It was picked up in Memphis by DHL, driven to Forest Park, GA. From there it was driven to Hebron, KY. From there it went back to Memphis where DHL turned it over to USPS. I guess I'll get it Monday! This exact thing happened to me last week when I also ordered a MicroSD card from them. Hell, they could have dropped it in the regular mail and I would have had it in no more than two days and they wouldn't have to pay DHL anything to ship it.

I've got something similar going on. I ordered an HDMI cable a week ago and it's still two states away. The tracking number sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, and it doesn't update until like 12+ hours after the last scan. When I paste the same number into the tracking box on the DHL website, they say it doesn't exist. The last order I made with them was similar, though not as bad, and they said it was being shipped with UPS even though it was actually USPS.

Definitely didn't use to have this kind of trouble with Newegg. Definitely going to think twice before ordering from them next time. Delivering late is one thing; not letting me know when it's coming is quite another. That's just not how things work around here.

Newegg has gone downhill the last 3 years. used to be the place to go and you would always get at the cheapest price and shipping was great.

2 of the last 3 packages have been crap. just got 2 more gigs of memory and while they worked i was worried they wouldnt with how they were packaged. i think im done ordering form them.

Has to do with inflation. They price their shipping quotes competitively with the USPS.

Remember the first class stamp used to be $0.38 -> 0.41 -> 0.44? USPS only increase it to adjust for inflation, it's said on their website somewhere.

Package prices go up as a result of that.. Flat rate is still pretty good if it fits.


As for newegg.. not much can be said. That seems to happen to anyone going big.

I dont know, Fedex is still the cheapest...I send a 22lb package a few weeks ago and with USPS it was like $35...Fedex was $12 with 2 day shipping.

My order was EggSaver. From what I understand, DHL picks up ES shipments and delivers them to USPS. I went through the USPS website for the tracking number that I found by logging into my NewEgg account last Monday, long before they ever notified me of the tracking number by e-mail. That's the thing that bothers me. They already had the tracking number by Monday but didn't send an e-mail until Saturday? That's just bad business.

In all fairness I can't blame NE's shipping department. The drive was shipped quickly and arrived well within the delivery window. There's a disconnect somewhere between shippping and notification though.

That depends on the shippers more then newegg.
