On my hTPC i have a pioneer 4x dvd-r burner (cendyne).

I need a new one for my main pc now.

Which of the ones on Newegg should I get right now and why?

wow... Dual layer 8X DVD writers for 80 bucks..!!!
Jeeezus... i can remember paying 320 bucks for a 4x HP CD writer....
 
In 1997 I paid over $400 for a 2X Philips SCSI CD-R, and that was below cost.

I think two years ago I paid about $260 for a 2X Pioneer DVD-RW.
 
if you need nero6 they have a packae with the OEM version as well. it's about $10 more than the naked version.
 
I am using the NU drive that was recommended by Anand and it has performed flawlessly after an initial firmware problem.

hey i was also lookin for a new dvd-burner cause mine is way too slow (only 1x by a no-name brand). thsi helped a lot, i'll prob. go for the nec 2510a. thx alot guys
