<< Two days ago I got a call from my bank, they said my card was closed and the fbi was looking into internet fraud. So far all they have been able to tell me is that a web site was hacked and they instantly closed all the accounts that could have been taken. They haven't been able to tell me what store it was yet but I've bought quite a bit of stuff from newegg as well, if I found out it is from newegg I'll post right back here. >>

I heard from my bank to day basically the same thing,
Here is my whining thread about the experience

I forgot, does NewEgg store customers cc info or do you have to enter it in for every purchase?

<< Face it, this isn't "foolproof" and to be perfectly honest, would be quite easy for someone "inside" or with the correct "tools"...............;) >>

Yes it would, and that's what makes a reputable store different than an unreputable one.

$#@! I just logged into my NewEgg account and I guess they have my VISA cc info. Problem is I dunno which cc since it only says VISA and expiration date not even the last 4.

I wonder if I should start over reacting now?

I don't even know if my cc has been compromised.

Now you guys got me worried.. I just ordered a video card from Newegg today... used an American Express but made sure that they didn't save my info on their servers. I guess I'll have to keep an eye out on my cc statement.

BTW, today is the last day to buy something with the AMEX Best Value Guarantee.

I wish Bank of America/Alaska Airlines offered a one time cc feature.

Guess I'll start using CitiBank's virtual cc from now on.

i hate how alot of companies nowadays do that by default keeping your credit card info on file for "your convience" when you make your next purchase.. order some stuff from buy.com recently, and when i went to my account to delete, there wasnt a friggin delete option for my credit card. had to call them up to remove it from my account..

Just ordered my new system from newegg.com about a week and a half ago. Nothing fishy going on with my CC statement.

Well I got a call from my CC company's fraud department letting me know of unusual activity. There were 4 more domain registrations as well at thousands of dollars in foreign mobile phone service. The store I had used prior to the problems was Newegg.
