Just looking online for a P4S333 Motherboard for my brother. Took a look at NewEgg.coms selection and I dont understand how NewEgg can have the newest motherboard out on the market...thats just started shipping recently and have them for sale as "refurbished." How the hell can they have one already refurbished???? And with it being refurbished....is there any warranty with it?

Just curious.

The P4S333 has been out for awhile. You are probably thinking of the new P4S533 with the SiS 645dx chipset, which newegg doesn't actually have yet. As far as I know, refurbished products lack the manufacturer warranty, but I could be wrong.

They are not 'refurbished.' They are just items returned from people and supposedly tested good. They get many items that are returned because someone changed their mind or because they couldn't get it to work due to user error, another faulty component, etc. Newegg can't sell them as new again so they cut some bucks off the price and sell it as 'refurbished.'

Some people have purchased refurbished items and had no problems. Others have. The problem with refurbished is that if it was returned due to an intermittent problem, Neweggs testing probably didn't see a problem even though it exists. If you go that route, be sure to test everything as soon as you get it, even features you may not be planning on using yet - all memory slots, both IDE headers, USB ports, etc.

30-day warranty.
