NewEgg.com Company Information?

Is there any place where I can find information like the company history (e.g. when they started), sales history, customer demographics, ... and so on of Newegg.com? I checked newegg.com and it does not even have the info of when they started.

Thanks

Thanks, I also just emailed them.

Yes, it is for a presentation for my virtual marketplace class. I already evaluated the Web site but could not find enough background information yet. And yes, I ordered from them often enough; best computer parts store IMO. 🙂

This might be total bs.

But I order a lot from a guy there and during a disussion I asked him the same thing. Like hey newegg.com just caome out of nowhere. He told me it was started by 3 guys and about 20 credit cards all maxed. Donno if it's true.

I tell you who their demographics are. They're nerds and computer geeks. hehe j/k I really don't know, but calling them would help you find out much faster

Got a reply via email. They will not disclose company secrets. 😕

Looks like my report will now be about a public company that has some more information out there.

I wouldn't be confused by that, asking for a companys demographics and sales history is....a shot in the dark at best for a private organization. I'd laugh and hang up on you if you called my place of work and asked for that. 😀

Ahh man!

I think what sets newegg apart is that they continue to keep an active role in their business. Like when there's a particular stepping of a processor that yields better overclocking results, they'll stock that stepping. And yes, that tells you something about their demographic too, the power user, aka Geek. I think their sales strategy is great customer service, and word of mouth advertising. They're the type of business that'll bite the bullet on an RMA, won't hassle you too much, and get you a replacement quickly, knowing that you'll tell your firends about newegg when they ask what's a good site to shop at.
