Hey i ordered a bunch of stuff last night from both newegg / chiefvalue to build a new core2 system. I kept on going back and forth on whether i really needed it or not. I thought well i have until sunday night to cancel my order because they wont' ship until Monday. I'm not a gamer and i already have a amd 3800x2 so i was questioning whether i really needed it. I do use visual studio 2005 which is a HOG and other development tools. I do video encoding once in awhile too. Anyways i go to cancel the stuff tonight cause i just thought i really didn't needed and well and beyhold both chiefvalue had already shipped it. I mean i checked the tracking information and there is more than just "billing information recieved" you can actually see the packages moving. While this is quite impressive on newegg/chiefvalues end..what gives? UPS is not open on sunday. How in the world are the shipping this out on a sunday? I guess this is my deciding factor because im not going to take a 15% restocking hit if i return the stuff but im just so suprised that i didn't get the chance to cancel.

I'm guessing they have a small crew on the weekends to keep the Monday morning weekend backlog as small as possible.

You might be right but im really suprised they can even give it to UPS. As far as i know UPS has never been opened on Sundays even for buisnesses.

It won't ship on Sunday, Fedex does some shipping on Saturdays but don't know about UPS, so anything ordered on a Sunday will carry over to Monday.

some larger retailers get FedEx/UPS drop trailers backed up to the docks that they fill with orders until full then they are picked up. Could be the case...

I suspect they contract with the shipper to make package runs over the weekend because its probably a very busy time for receiving orders. Its not their fault if you assumed they didn't process and ship orders on the weekend. Everyone wants their package asap and when a great retailer works weekends to get it done, someone then complain they are too fast.
