Bumping thread for today's deal - 15% off OCZ SSD drives. OCZ has developed a well-deserved awful reputation around here, but it seems they are cleaning up their act a bit, or at least the new SandForce firmware is addressing BSOD issues.

Code: BLKNOVSSD

Some best bets:
(1) 120GB Vertex 3 Max IOPS ($157AR): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227714
(2) 120GB Vertex 3 ($142AR): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227706
(3) 120GB Agility 3 ($115AR): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227726
(4) 240GB Agility 3 ($276AR): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227727

Just avoid their OEM drives - they have been shown to be lesser spec'd versions of the retail drives (one of the factors in their bad reputation).

Here's a helpful chart on price/performance: http://techreport.com/articles.x/21934/2. Note that this doesn't account for the 15% discount, so the OCZ drives come out looking much better with the discount. After rebate the 120GB Vertex 3 is just over $1/GB. Amazing, really...

I was looking at the Vertex 3 Max IOPS as it appears to be a faster drive than the 128gb m4 and the price is right, but I don't know if I want to risk the potential hassel from a SF drive

Just for reference, I recently bought an OCZ 120GB Solid 3. I immediately updated it to the latest firmware (2.15) and haven't had a minute's trouble. I'm thinking about getting another for a RAID setup if I can catch them on sale again.

Hmm, i've been wanting around a 64gb ssd. I just don't think i'll go the ocz route do to all of the unhappy customers they have. Bait and switch type stuff as well. But the pricing is quite good....................

Be sure to comparison-shop on Microsoft Office, Amazon's prices are about the same as Newegg's _after_ the discount for the Office Pro I was looking at for work.

Thanks for the update. I snagged a set of speakers for a budget build I'm doing. Extra 15% off made me jump on the ones I had on wish list.
