Yeah... I actually got up at 2am thinking they would have the be-all end-all deals, and didn't end up biting on anything. Instead I keep refreshing to see if the sold out GTX 660 comes back in stock at their crazy good price (I know, it won't). Thankfully got a 3570k and SSD for about the price the 3570k would have been alone, so I feel I did okay if not great.

i think the CM ad is just the leftovers that didn't sell on BF...

lt me tell you i was just thrilled to see over 50 BF deals on routers, kitchenware, and all sorts of other useless crap that i don't even need right now - and only one stinking deal on a UPS/battery back-up...and it was a shitty APC unit at that. thanks for so many great deals this holiday season newegg 🙄

...watch, you'll see - as soon as i pull the trigger on a UPS (which i've been holding out for months now anyways just t get a good deal on one), newegg will put out a "20% off all UPS/battery back-ups" coupon...

BF has become a joke. Every store and their mother has a BF sale. Mattress stores with "doorbuster" deals! lol please because people are lining up to bust down the door of a mattress store! Car dealerships advertising super door buster BF sales for prices you can get any other time of year. It's all marketing hoopla.

BF has become pretty much wait on line all day to get a cheap TV and while you are here buy some other garbage we have too! Some websites had some okay deals and the really good deals were sold out in minutes (probably only very little stock to entice you to their site in hopes you buy other junk) and Cyber Monday has become let's extend the sale of crap we couldn't sell on BF.

BF has become, for me anyway, the day I go to best buy later in the day when there are no lines and I pickup some Bluray movies for cheap. I'm done holding out for super phantom deals that just don't happen anymore.

My impression is that Black Friday is very manufacturer specific. There were some absolutely amazing deals on particular items at Newegg:

(1) Corsair cases
(2) HIS Radeon video cards
(3) Asus routers
(4) Canon printers and cameras
(5) OCZ Vertex 4 SSDs

My guess is that retailers need manufacturer buy-in or even incentives to drop prices. Most other items are probably just at regular "sale" prices that many of us have seen before, but which are still fairly good, especially given the number of items marked down at once.

Re-read what you wrote from a retailer's perspective. Perfect for them. That's why these happen.

You would think that but if you do a check of the numbers black friday sales figures are not as great as they have been in the past.

Of course many factors do contribute to that like the economy, unemployment figures, and the fact that consumers are not getting the same kind of sales that used to happen on BF. Many factors at work here. From the consumer standpoint though BF sales used to be much better than they currently are.

Didn't they JUST release figures that this years BF broke an all time record of 1 billion + in sales?

Well, looks like it was online only, but this years BF beat last years BF by a sound margin.

Correct, online sales went up, but retail sales were down despite breaking records in number of people actually shopping. Obviously the online hunters were looking for things other than what those of us here were looking for 🙂
