If you can't actually BUY it at MSRP, that number is pretty meaningless. Like anything else in this world, it's worth what the market says it's worth.

I'm waiting for the 1060 myself, because I'm cheap and I don't want to replace the 475W power supply in my PC.

I'd guess newer, lower power & heat and its good enough for 4k gaming for the lucky few who have that option.

If the 480 4gb actually comes out at $200, and the 8Gb at the guesstimate of ~$250, I would think that is going to be a hotter turnover items because it will probably have serious supply issues for 4+ months, no?

Even crazier, if that 490 8GB really MSRPs at $300. Hard not to recommend that one above all others (Assuming benchmarks actually deliver on AMD promises). Imagine the supply issues and true purchase price if AMD magically meets expectations.

This reminds me of when the PS2 first came out when Gamestop was being a bitch and only selling it in "bundles" that saved absolutely no money. Basically just added up the price of everything and tacked on a few extra cents to make it end in .99.

Actually the 1080 is pretty terrible for Ethereum. A $200 290 is better.

Stock is in short supply so lots of resellers at the moment. I suspect some of them are in one of the five US states with no sales tax, and pocketing the difference from reselling the cards to people who can't wait a month for stock.
