Newegg: AVB DVD-r and DVD+r's for a good deal.

I can't find out anything under 'AVB' searching media at DVDRhelp.com. Also the product link takes you to AVB's company page but they don't list any DVD media under products. And the newegg product page doesn't say anything about a warranty or guarantee.

It's a nice price but *shudder* not a lot of info to go on. Risky!

I can't wait to see the thread for these...maybe I can save folks some time:

These are <(crap)(great) pick one>, as long as they are the ones with the <(matte)(mirror)(white label) pick one> finish...according to <insert DVD info gathering program name> they're actually made by <inset mfgr>. They are rated at <(1x)(2x)(4x)(8x) pick one> but I've been able to use them at <(1x)(2x)(4x)(8x) pick one> with <insert name of burning program>. Out of <insert number> DVDs burned I've had <(no)(large number) pick one> coasters. However, if the spindle has the <(UPC upside dow)(black label)(some other distinguishing characteristic) pick one> they're actually made by <inset mfgr>, which means they are <(crap)(great) pick one>.

Heheh Nice...

Brilliant. And no, you can't be quoted too many times in one thread

Hahahaha! That was quite amazing and sums up practically any dvd media thread I've ever seen.

Anyway...about the deal, 65 bucks seems awfully good. Even if there are a few coasters, still a decent deal. I think I might bite on this. Anyone tried these? (just use the templete provided)

Oh yeah, the free shipping, and no tax in most states, really really helps.

I'm getting them, let you guys know how they are in a couple days when they ship it via fedex from NJ, have it flown down to TN, then fly it back up to NY, and drop it off at my apartment, which is about 30 miles from the newegg warehouse in NJ.

These are great,as long as they are the ones with the mirror finish...according to dvdrinfo, they're actually made by ICUP Corp. They are rated at 4x, but I've been able to use them at 4x with Mero 7.0. Out of 25 DVDs burned I've had no coasters. However, if the spindle has a pink line through the upc, they're actually made by BOLSH1T Inc., which means they are crap.

hope this helps.

well one encouraging thing is that there is no spacer on top, which means they are not the cheaper thinner-type discs. Or the spacer could just be on the bottom.

These DVDs do not work in my NEC ND1100A DELL OEM, Firmware 10GE. The drive does not even recognize that there is a disc inserted.

Yea, what he said. And 75% of them were scratched to hell! They recorded perfect but I couldn't play them in any dvd player known to man!
