Retail HSF is not too good for overclocking, so that would need replaced if you overclock.
Most OEM's have 30 days warranty, while retail is 3 years.
If you don't overclock, then stock retail hsf is fine, but so is a 30 day warranty.
If you do overclock, then a 3 year warranty is better.
Tough choice.
T-bred B's run relatively cool, so you could probably overclock with the retail HSF.
I oc'd my T-bred B to 2000+ at default voltage and it stays in the 40's with a quiet HSF that only spins at 2800rpm.
The 1800+ retail is only $72. I think it would be worth it to spend the extra 7 for the 1800 over the $65 1700. Any technical resons why the 1700 would be a better deal?

Assuming you are only doing FSB overclockin and not multiplier, you generally want the lower speed chip. Then you have a better chance of being stable at ne of the 33mhz multiples.
