Newegg - 12700K $199 AP

Pair it up with a good AIO, decent mobo and DDR5-7600 and it could easily go up to DDR5-7200 without breaking a sweat.

5.1 GHz all core works for mine, with the giant IceSleet G6 cooler.

Probably would be great for compressing all my porn legally obtained movies to HEVC
Don't stay in the same room as that CPU. Spits out a huge deal of heat especially when all cores are going full tilt.

I don't think mine can do Cinebench R23/2024 MT without shutting down in under 10 minutes, at least not with the giant IceSleet air cooler.

That's why I had to get the 245KF so I don't ever need to fire up the 12700K. Almost had a buyer interested but then he frickin' changed his mind 🙁

I have a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 dual tower/fans with one of those anti-bending pressure plates on my 12700K.

Are you able to complete CB R23/2024 MT easily? What RAM timings and speed?
I don't think I have used cinebench before. Is this what I need to download? What settings should I choose?

Nothing is overclocked on this PC. My RAM: https://www.newegg.com/corsair-32gb-ddr5-6000/p/N82E16820236888?Item=N82E16820236888

Yes, download from the official site. From the menu, tick Advanced and on the main screen, choose 10 minute run. Then click the Start button next to MT. Good idea to step away and do something else. Takes very long, sometimes more than 10 minutes coz it doesn't end until the scene is finished. If that passes, try the GPU one too, just to see how it fares with that.

The first 2 images are from the advanced MT run. The last image is the GPU run but a pop-up blocked some of the GPU-Z info. Room temp is a cool 69F. When doing the GPU tests the left side info went black a couple of times but hovering my mouse and/or clicking the area brought the info back into view.

Very nice!

Your sample is scoring higher than the score here: https://www.cgdirector.com/cinebench-2024-scores/

I must have botched my CPU installation really bad to have it be throttling and shutting down 😀

I did get a contact frame but was too lazy to use it.
I have two cores that seem to be hotter than the rest. If I weren't lazy or I was stressing my PC regularly I would try reseating the CPU. I should also mention that nothing is overclocked on the PC but I set the RAM to their advertised 6000 speeds.
