blackinches is looking to get a 3500+. other than the heat and power requirements is there a good reason to get the 90nm over the 130nm if blackinches is not planning on overclocking?

also does anybody run a 3500+ with the zalman 7700 ALCU heatsink? how well does it cool? every review blackinches has seen uses the heatsink with a p4.

If you're completely opposed to overclocking and don't have to have S939, a Newcastle 3400+ (S754) will outperform both. You can go ahead and get the Newcastle 3500+ if you don't overclock, but I hear prices on the Winchester have stabilized a bit.

LOL you're on crack.

But if you don't plan on OCing, then it really doesn't matter which you get... just get the cheaper of the 2 (which should be obvious)

Just remember when looking at Newcastle vs. Winchester. Newcastles are about .2 MGz faster than Winchesters. So a 3200 Newcastle is 2.2 GHz and a 3200 Winchester is 2.0 GHz.

Yeah... that's only when you're comparing the S754 at a given PR rating to its S939 counterpart (dual channel is supposed to make up the loss of 200MHz). This does not apply with the 3500+.
