I think this is a good example of why the death penalty is useful.

It's unclear whether Snively died because of head wounds or as a result of the cutting injuries she received to her abdomen, Thompson said in a press release Monday. The autopsy showed Snively's unborn son was removed from her womb after she had been cut open, sheriff's deputies said. More lab analysis and tests will be required before detectives can determine whether the infant died before or after he was removed from the womb.

This happened two blocks from my brother's work. I'm amazed that lady hasn't been shanked in jail yet, maybe it takes a while to make one long enough to do any damage.
