newbie's question: How to build an athlon system(with my old Voodoo3 2000 AGP, maxtor 20G...)??

a few days ago my old Celeron300A system was totally down. can u guys give me some ideas on how to build a new system? 1. athlon 1.2g + Epox 8k7a(or any other good MB?)
2. 256M pc2100 DDR (can i still use the old pc133 sdram?)
3. voodoo3 2000 AGP
4. Maxtor 20G 7200rpm
5. Antex or Enlight case w/300W (need more suggestions for it)
+ cd-rom, cd-rw, sound card...

i never use Athlon chip before. don't know how to deal with the cooling things, like fun, HS, case, blah blah. Also i'd like more instructions on how to build a stable system. many thx!!!

Get a good HSF like a Taisol cgk760 and some thermal stuff like arctic silver. You can't use pc133 ram on the 8k7a mobo, so you need some DDR (crucial) if your going to use it. Then a sound card liek the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz is a good one for the price (a Phillips seismic edge is also cheaper if you dont care about sound too much). Either case is fine and 300w is pleny of power. The HD is also fine. Dvd-rom, the toshibas from newegg.com are great, for the cd-rw a liteon from newegg.com is also good and reasonabley priced. Then, you may want to look into getting a new video card at some point with such a nice system, but the voodoo3 will work ok, just wont give terrific framrates or anything (i personally am satisfied with the 35 fps i get in cs as it looks ok to me). Thats all i can think of and i'm sure someone else will jump in and share their thoughts too.

thx a lot, man. i still wanna use what left from my old system. sound card, pci winmodem(if i can find a cheap "hardware" modem for my linux, that's gonna be great!). and as for me, Voodoo3 2000 is fast enough to play QuakeIII.
i'm still not sure about the case and PS, especially after reading so many threads on case and cooling things. which model? more detail suggestions, pls.
another puzzle: at what frequency will pc2100 DDR work? so does FSB 266 really matter? also what is the working frequency of my Voodoo card? i know for PII time, people calculate the bus frequency based on 33.1/3M or 66M. what's the situation nowadays? again thank u all for ur valuable advice! Text
