Let me have it,it's what i don't know that gets me,gaming and general use,items purchased,case-antec 1200,psu corsair ax 850,cpu intel i7-3.06,mb asus rampage 3 formula,
items to be purchased,msi gtx 460 vgc,corsair dominator 3x4gb ram w/fan,2wd 1 tb 7200 rpm hard drives,windows 7 64bit os system.-my biggest worry is compatability issues. I have never done this before so please any input cruel or otherwise is needed,of course suggestions on how to remedy any mistakes that i have made

I don't see any compatibility issues. You already bought almost everything, so the Sandy Bridge option is out. You didn't mention your monitor, what resolution do you game at? Most likely this whole system is overkill - you could game with an i5-760 on a P55 board with a smaller PSU and less ram and saved a LOT of money - but if that's what you want......
