Hello all!

I've been lurking around for a couple of weeks now and I finally registered here after deciding between this forum and a couple others. :)

After finding a couple of interesting threads, I would really like to learn about networking. Anyone have any tips on books regarding basic/advanced networking?

Thanks. :sneaky:

Why do you want to learn it? Do you want to base a career out of it?

If you are a total network & IT virgin, I would start off with CompTIA N+:

If you know some of the basics and have a little IT background, then have a look at Cisco CCNA:

Yes. I am completely dumb when it comes to IT.

The only things I could actually manage to do is fixing up my LAN at home. And sometimes I even struggle while attempting to do so.

I don't know about a career but, hopefully yes if I actually start appreciating it.
