I did it.Finally I bought it.The a7n8xdeluxe v2.0 everybody is so excited about.I have an option of 1700+A and 2400+B to ride this board.Which one is preferable?(I live in warm climate,no AC,summer46 degrees c max room temp).
I have 512*2 PC2700 Kingston Ram ,7200RPM ,80 GB Samsung HDD to go with it.(I wanted WD800JB but their service and warranty is lousy)

Please dispense some words of wisdom regarding
Intallation,
Bios set up to get the max out of the system,(I intend to run it with bundled HSF and one case exhaust fan),
Overclocking if any(I have never overclocked till now,I never had a board which could. This is also my first foray in the field of AGP cards,BTW will GF4MX440 8X based card be enough?,I am not a big time gamer),
Bios updating
and other significant thing.BASICALLY SOME DOs AND DON'Ts.
All inputs will be highly appreciated.TAM in Advance

Thanks but 3 of my 5 questions do not get answered by the stiky.
1. Which one 1700+A or 2400+B fo0r overclocking and performance.
2. About graphics Card
3. About bios setup(which of the settings to be left alone and not tamper with, given my setup) because these things have been discused in the sticky among the people who have been doing such things for ages so, many things are taken for granted .Will any body be kind enough to give the answer to these three questions?

I have a TbredA 1700+ And I don't see why you not would take a TbredA over a TbredB in any situation - especially when the B has a much higher clock.

The Bs overclock MUCH better...with that 2400+ you should get into the 2.3Ghz range (a 2400+ is 2Ghz) but that is more of an estimate of my own.

But you really have no reason to take a slower processor with "inferior" stepping....

A Geforce4mx440 will satisfy some gaming, but don't expect BF1942 at high quality with ANY AA or AF. Geforce4mx is really a overclocked Geforce2GTS. IF your budget is limited it makes more sense to get a 9000PRO over the G4MX.

but if all you do is the occaisonall Warcraft 3 match and CS then go for it - I have a Geforce4mx420 and its satisfactory I guess (I have it clocked @ MX460 speeds and with full detail at 1024&768 WC3 is pretty smooth but when you get like 30 units on screen fighting at once the Framerate takes a dive)

Here is my view of it:

<100 - 9000PRO/9100 (whatever you can find. the 9100 is really a 8500LE but it is slightly faster than the 9000pro)
~100 - G4TI4200
~150-170 - 9500PRO/9600PRO
~200 - 9700 NON PRO
~250- 9700 PRO

As for overclocking I reccomend going to the Overclocking forums and reading some info there...even just go in and read how people did it. Some things may not make sense but the more you'll read the more you'll get a better idea of what to do and how to approach it.

Good Luck!

Uh...the processors themselves are not locked...either would be just fine.

But like I said considering:

a) 2400+ is faster than 1700+ at stock settings
b) Tbred B oc's MUCH better than Tbred A
c) the 2400+ is a TBredB while the the 1700+ is a Tbred A

Then one can deduce that

2400+ Tbred B > 1700+ Tbred A

since

i) It is clocked at a higher speed
ii) has a better stepping which
a)allows for more overclocking potential

Not trying to flame or anything here, but your room temp gets up to 115 F and you don't have air conditioning? Are you nuts, or do you live in a 3rd world country????
