newbie webdeveloping questions....pleease help

i wanna make a cool site.
i was searching thru the internet for ideas and came across this website. (dont ask me how i ended up at a german hair design website...ok since u asked...i went from remus racing website to their creator's website t-sign.com to this hair design website)
i wanna model my website like that one. but my question is, how do you make the black area slide out like that after u click on "Enter Hairdreams". is that all Flash, or javascript. how hard would it be to do something like that?

also, one more thing. how do i make sliding menus? that would be a cool touch to add.

anyone have any advice?

Definitely Flash

It's all in flash and isn't that difficult to do once you get the hang of the program. Check out Flashkit.com where they have tutorials and sample movies where you can learn how to do this.

its definitely flash but you can do that with CSS layers or DHTML. Those are just two of the many ways.

hmmm thought it was all flash. what are the pros/cons of making a website with all flash? i know dreamweaver integrates flash into a site. im gonna use my site mainly for hosting pics. but i just want it to look cool rather than what i got right now (look in sig)
