Newbie Video Card Overclocker

So i just got a ThermalTake Volcano 12 HS/F for christmas and overclocked my 2800+ to 11x210... now i'm interested in overclocking my BFG 5700 Ultra 128MB.

First of all, what performance gains am i looking at? Also does stock cooling suffice? My nVidia settings say it's at 31 degrees C right now at stock. Finally, how do i overclock the GPU?

31C is really cold. My 6800 idles around 55C with stock.

You can OC using the Coolbits registry mod for Forceware drivers. http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=815

As far as gains go? It's all pretty relative... few FPS here and there... nothing to brag about, I'm gonna say. Give it a try though.

Don't expect something miraculous, it's somewhere between 2-10% gain in performance (depending on the application). But first, are you sure you're ready to loose the warranty on your video card?
