looking to buy a new vid card, my mobo is 4x, if i was to buy a card with 2/4/8x will it run slower at 4x than 8x?
what is a good vid card to buy for gaming? looking to spend around 150$'s

thanks

There is little to *no* difference between running a video card on a 4x AGP bus and an 8x AGP bus.
What kind of games will you be playing? I can name quite a few "good" cards but you'll get a better recommendation if you tell us what you plan to do with the card 😉

Yup, no real diff between 4x and 8x agp as he said above.

Having formerely had an nVidia G4 Ti 4200 ( a great card) I now prefer ATI. 9600 pro is prolly within that budget. The 9800 pro is at about $200. Referb w/b less

What are your system specs? I am currently running a 9600XT on 4x and getting 30-70 fps in Americas Army (directX). I would recomend it because it is cheap and self overclocking (not sure how much it actully helps)

looking at this card, tell me what you think of it

Not a bad card, but if you like AA&AF go with a Radeon 9500 or better. I run most of my games at 2xAA & 8xAF on my 9600 AIW Pro (461/742).

k, ill take a look at atis any brand name that i shold be looking for?

Built By ATI or Saphire. Some may recommend Powercolor as well. I'd say stick with the first two.

Saphire 9600XT's last i checked were under 140. I have a friend that i play games with and he said he likes it.

I'd suggest getting nothing less than a GeForce FX 5900XT or a Radeon 9800 Pro. If noise doesn't matter to you, go with the $159 XFX 5900XT. If you'd like a quiet card with VIVO, get the MSI 5900XT. If you want the highest speed at high res with AA+AF, go for the ~$210 Sappire 9800 Pro OEM. These cards are worth the little extra over a $150 9600XT or 5700U if you'd like to game in high res with newer titles.

But that 4400 you listed is a great deal at $85. You won't be using AA or AF, but it should be plenty playable at medium res and settings.

ok ok, going for the ati 9800pro 210 at newegg new, is the fan on that card ok? or shold i upgrade it, and if so what to =P

thanks
